European champions Chelsea have proven they have what it takes to dethrone City, however, having done it in last season's Champions League final and will be hoping to add a domestic title to the one won in Porto.
Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.
It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

The West Ham players are crowded in the D as Cresswell goes across to take the corner, and they burst forward when he swings it in. Mings gets there first though, getting a good clearance on it.

Cash stood tall to block Benrahma's cross and it hits him in the side of the head. The medical team are on to give him some checks, but he's quickly back to his feet and will be able to carry on.

Rice tries to go long to Antonio again, but Chambers is giving him no time on the ball. He forces him out wide and the forward has no one up with him in support to try and pick out with a cross.

GREAT CHANCE! Ramsey is closed down by three West Ham defenders on the edge of the box, and he does brilliantly to burst through and hold them off long enough to square it to Coutinho. He pokes it towards goal, but Fabianski is there to smother it.

Villa are on the attack again now, with Luiz threading it through to Coutinho, but Rice reads it well to make an important interception. Fornals touches it through to Soucek down the right, but his low cross is cut out by Mings.

Johnson volleys a cross in from the right, but there's no one attacking it for the hosts. They keep hold of it though, switching it to the left where Lanzini tries to pick out Cresswell, but a loose touch from him gifts it back to Villa.

Ramsey fizzes a throughball down the left for Young, but his cross is blocked by Johnson. He keeps it in play and Fornals tries to set Antonio on the counter, but he's bundled over by Chambers, and West Ham win a free-kick.
