This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Another good chance for the Cherries on the stroke of half-time. A lovely pass from Christie opens up the pitch as Solankes surges forward. He slides through Semenyo but his left-footed effort is deflected over the bar for a corner.

A lovely turn from Kudus gives Johnson plenty of space on the right side to whip in a cross. His delivery, though, is poor and goes behind the three West Ham players queuing up in the box.

Better now from West Ham as Kudus makes a good run to the byline. His cross reaches the onrushing Soucek but the midfielder can't control his header and it's well over the bar from the Czech international.

A superb delivery into the box from Ward-Prowse as he finally gets into an advanced position down the left side. Bowen throws himself at the cross but can't make contact with the header and Neto is able to push the ball away.

SAVE! A huge save from Areola to keep the home side in it. Again, West Ham are dispossessed in the middle of the park and Solanke has the ball inside the box in an instant. He shifts it to Semenyo who should score but blasts his effort straight at Areola who makes the vital stop. That should be 2-0.

Bowen is having to drop deep to get on the ball which isn't an ideal position for the West Ham centre forward. The Englishman gives the ball away cheaply but Semenyo can't make anything stick with his surging run down the right flank.

West Ham line up a long throw-in but it's a poor delivery from the centre-back which gets nowhere near the penalty area. That sums up West Ham's first half so far. The home side do win a free-kick shortly after but Ward-Prowse's delivery is cleared away.
