From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The Premier League's January transfer window is upon us with Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham all set to be busy.
Liverpool were the summer's biggest spenders with no fewer than four new arrivals. Goalkeeper Alisson was the headline-grabber with the Brazilian already proving worth every penny of the world-record fee the Reds shelled out for the Brazilian. Could long-term target Nabil Fekir join him next month? United got a couple of new faces in through the door in the summer but it hasn't made a difference with Jose Mourinho out and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in. Will he spend them out of trouble in the January sales?
Chelsea have made the biggest splash with the signing of Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic while Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal could all choose to dip their toes in the water as they battle for an all-important top four spot. We will have all the latest news, views, rumours, gossip and done deals right here so don't touch that dial.

Highly-rated teenager Jean Clair Todibo is close to sealing a move to Barcelona, who have beaten Manchester City to the 19-year-old centre-back.
Todibo has attracted interest across Europe with his contract up in the summer, but it seems Barcelona have beaten off competition from City, Juventus and PSG.

DEAL CONFIRMED
Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of Dominic Solanke from Liverpool for £19m plus add-ons.
The 21-year-old has been linked with Crystal Palace, Fulham and Huddersfield Town regarding a loan move, but Eddie Howe has opted to sign the 2017 Under-20 World Cup Winner on a permanent deal.
More on Bournemouth's signing of Dominic Solanke from Liverpool here:
Wolves are confident of signing Tammy Abraham despite potential complications surrounding the move.
The 21-year-old, on-loan at Aston Villa from Chelsea, played for Chelsea Under-23's in a Premier League 2 match earlier this year, and Fifa rules state that a player cannot play for more than two teams in one season.
However, Wolves are confident this won't be a stumbling block should Chelsea facilitate the move by recalling Abraham from his loan at Villa by January 14.
Reports coming out of Italy claim that Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker is interesting Roma.
The 23-year-old is on loan at Molineux from Anderlecht, and plans to make that move a permanent one in the summer does complicate a potential January move, according to Sky Sports.
However the Belgian, who played against England in the 2018 World Cup, has only made two Premier League appearances this season, and so Roma are keen to test Wolves' resolve and see if a deal could be done.
It looks like Timothy Fosu-Mensah's unsuccessful loan spell at Fulham is coming to an end.
The 21-year-old right back joined on-loan from Manchester United in the summer and started four of Fulham's six opening Premier League games.
However, he has barely featured since and Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri said today the Dutch international was free to leave.
Ranieri said: "I don't know if United want him, he can go because with me he does not play often and I understand he is young, he needs to play."
Well that's just about it today, with today's biggest transfer news coming in the form of Dominic Solanke's £19m transfer to Bournemouth from Liverpool.
There are sure to be many more intriguing deals, and you can keep track of all the deals and rumours this month on The Independent's daily transfer news live blog.
