Neymar has already smashed the world transfer record by swapping Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain but many closer to home could follow him in big money transfers with speculation about the futures of Philippe Coutinho, Alexis Sanchez and more refusing to go away.
Manchester City have been the summer's biggest spenders splashing over £200m on new arrivals but Pep Guardiola isn't stopping there with Jonny Evans eyed to plug what still looks to be a hole in the centre of their defence.
Crosstown rivals United have been busy too and still want more despite adding Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof with Jose Mourinho keen on an attacking wide player and a new full back.
Liverpool have struggled to get deals over the line and could still lose Coutinho while Chelsea need bodies as Antonio Conte battles with an injury and suspension crisis with the Premier League champions.

Nikola Kalinic can expect to be fined after missing training with Fiorentina amid reports linking the striker with a move to their Serie A rivals AC Milan.
The 29-year-old Croatian has scored 33 goals across all competitions in his two seasons with La Viola but looks ready to join the Rossoneri revolution at San Siro.
Milan's new Chinese owners have recruited the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Hakan Calhanoglu, Lucas Biglia and Ricardo Rodriguez during a busy summer.
Fiorentina were expecting Kalinic at their Campini training ground on Thursday morning and when he did not appear the Tuscan club expressed their displeasure on violachannelit.tv.
It read: "Fiorentina announces that Nikola Kalinic did not appear at morning training and did not provide the club with any reasons why.
"The player, having violated rules governing the team's activities, will be penalised according to the rules."
Up to 20,000 seats could be left empty at Wembley Stadium for Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Chelsea on Sunday due to security-based restrictions.
Spurs have so far filled 70,000 seats at Wembley, which can hold 90,000 fans for a football match, but the club has been prevented from putting the remaining tickets on general sale to stop away supporters from buying seats in the home section.
As reported by The Times, the decision to impose such a restriction was made following security talks between representatives from Brent Council, the Metropolitan Police, the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted he is “open” to signing Diego Costa on a loan deal this month.
The Spanish forward has made clear his intentions to leave Chelsea but Atletico Madrid – his preferred destination – are banned from making any new signings until January.
And while Everton have bolstered their squad with club record signing Gylfi Sigurdsson this week, Koeman has admitted he would still like to bring in another striker – as well as a left-sided defender.
Jurgen Klopp is remaining coy on his transfer plans.
"Unfortunately my English is not good enough to give 500 different answers to the same question!
"But if the transfer window had ended yesterday we already have a team I like. The transfer window is a very important time, but it’s also important what we do with the actual team.
“A few things on both sides [incoming and outgoing can still happen]. Everything leads to August 31. It’ll be a busy day, I don’t know if we will be involved.”
Jurgen Klopp has chosen to remain silent on Philippe Coutinho's future despite Barcelona's suggestions a deal for the Liverpool is "close".
Barca have made the Brazilian their top target to replace Neymar and have seen two bids already rebuffed for the midfielder who has submitted a transfer request to leave Anfield.
The Spanish club's general manager Pep Segura has claimed the club expects deals to bring both Coutinho and Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele to the Nou Camp to be completed soon.
But Klopp gave such talk a wide berth and refused to be drawn on further claims that the 25-year-old, who will miss this weekend's clash with Crystal Palace through injury, has told him he wants to leave.
Even if no signing goes as sensationally high as Neymar’s, Barca’s next deal is influenced by it and their necessity to buy, thus creating a knock-on effect for Liverpool and then Southampton.
Here's Miguel Delaney to explain:
Barnsley could hand defender Andy Yiadom a new deal after his proposed move to Premier League newcomers Huddersfield broke down.
Yiadom was left out of Barnsley's squad for their last two games after they accepted a revised offer from Huddersfield, reported to be around £2million, but the 25-year-old has now returned to Oakwell.
Neither club disclosed the reason why the deal collapsed. Huddersfield refused to comment when approached by the Press Association, but Yiadom could feature in Barnsley's derby against Sheffield United on Saturday.
Barcelona have suffered a blow on the eve of the new LaLiga season after Luis Suarez was ruled out for a month with a knee injury.
The former Liverpool striker was hurt during the second leg of the Supercopa de Espana against Real Madrid, which the capital club won 2-0 at the Bernabeu to clinch a 5-1 aggregate victory.
Suarez will definitely miss Barca's league opener against Real Betis and further fixtures against Alaves and Espanyol, with the trip to Getafe on September 17 representing a potential opportunity to return to action.
Arsenal defender Gabriel is closing in on a move to Valencia as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger begins the process of trimming his squad.
Wenger has made no secret of the fact he believes he has too many first-team players on the books at the Emirates Stadium.
The Frenchman hinted on Wednesday that he will be busy clearing the decks before the transfer window closes on August 31.
Speaking after the 4-1 Community Shield penalty shoot-out win over reigning Premier League champions Chelsea, Wenger said that Arsenal were looking to move on some of those deemed surplus to requirements.
"We'll let some players go - 33 (players) is too high," he said. "Too much competition for places in detrimental."
Rafael Benitez put his Newcastle players through their paces in front thousands of fans as the club staged an open day at St James' Park.
Around 5,000 supporters attended the event under bright sunshine on Thursday and got a first look at new signing Joselu.
The 27-year-old striker, who completed his £5million move from Stoke on Wednesday, trained with his team-mates, as did Jonjo Shelvey, who will not play again until September 10 because of suspension after being sent off in Sunday's 2-0 home defeat by Tottenham.
