Liverpool have given their midfield a further boost with the signing of Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich, although they rejected a bid, rumoured to be £150m, from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad for Mohamed Salah. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur finally got their man by securing Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson as Harry Kane’s replacement.
Elsewhere, Man City have sold Cole Palmer to Chelsea, and the London club offloaded Callum Hudson-Odoi to Nottingham Forest after his return from loan. Manchester United, meanwhile, had a very busy day as Sofyan Amrabat came in on loan from Fiorentina, Spurs left-back Sergio Reguilon has signed, Jonny Evans penned a one-year contract and Mason Greenwood left on loan for Spanish side Getafe.
Brighton had something of a coup by nabbing Ansu Fati on loan from Barcelona and Nottingham Forest had their customary slew of incomings.

DONE DEAL! Nottingham Forest complete swap deal
Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of midfielder Nicolas Dominguez from Bologna. The arrival of Dominguez, capped 11 times by Argentina, at the City Ground sees Remo Freuler move the other way.
“It feels amazing to join a club with so much history in England and the Premier League,” Dominguez says.
“I watched the game Forest played against Sheffield United, I saw the fans in the stadium and it attracted me.
“I’m over the moon and keen to embrace this challenge.”
Wolves close in on midfield target
Wolves are reportedly closing in on a £12.8m deal for Jean-Ricner Bellegarde. The Strasbourg man has been a consistent performer in Ligue 1 over the last few seasons and could boost Gary O’Neil’s midfield options after the departure of Matheus Nunes earlier.
Manchester United seal Sergio Reguilon deal to solve left-back woes
Sergio Reguilon has joined Manchester United on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur, with Erik ten Hag suggesting his fifth summer signing could be parachuted in for a debut at Arsenal on Sunday.
The Spanish left-back became United’s second signing of deadline day after Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, who joined from Fenerbahce for £4.3m.
Ten Hag said he was delighted to secure a player of Reguilon’s quality as an emergency left-back after both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were ruled out until November. The 26-year-old, who has also played for Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, trained with United on Friday and Ten Hag indicated he will be available for the Gunners clash.

My duty to help Barcelona loanee Ansu Fati realise potential – Roberto De Zerbi
Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi feels an overwhelming duty to help Barcelona loanee Ansu Fati realise his potential of becoming a “great” player.
Spain international Fati has joined Albion on a deal until the end of the season, having been linked with Premier League rivals Tottenham.
De Zerbi, who recently lost Julio Enciso to a long-term knee issue, says he “can’t make mistakes” as he bids to develop the exciting 20-year-old forward during his temporary stay at the Amex Stadium.
“I’m very pleased, it’s a big player,” the Italian coach said of Fati. “We lost Enciso and we needed one big player.
“We are lucky because we have a lot of young players, potential top players and it will be one responsibility more.
“If you work with this talent, you have much responsibility because it’s our football heritage and we can’t make mistakes with these players because football needs this talent and you have to manage it in different ways.
“I’ve always thought like this. Especially for the big, big talent, I feel the responsibility to help this talent to become great players.”

No more incomings for Everton
While there may still be some outgoing moves tied up at Goodison Park, The Independent’s Senior Football Correspondent Richard Jolly is reporting that the club are now suggesting there will be no more signings for them.
They were fairly tepidly linked with the likes of Leeds winger Wilfried Gnonto earlier today but it seems like that won’t happen. However, players such as Alex Iwobi (to Fulham) and Neal Maupay (to Brentford) could theoretically complete their departures from the club.
Randal Kolo Muani’s move to PSG still in doubt
Randal Kolo Muani revealed earlier this week that he had been the subject of a record offer from Paris Saint-Germain as the club tested Eintracht Frankfurt’s resolve to keep the French striker. Kolo Muani subsequently refused to train and was left out of Frankfurt’s squad for the Europa Conference League win against Levski Sofia yesterday, but it appears that his departure is not yet totally certain - Miguel Delaney reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are still holding firm on the price they have set for the forward, with time tight to secure a replacement if any deal for Kolo Muani were to go through.
Chelsea trying to convince Ian Maatsen to join Burnley
Back to Ian Maatsen. Sources have told The Independent that Chelsea are trying to persuade the left back to return to Burnley having agreed a fee with the Lancashire club, with the Dutch defender still yet to be convinced on the move.
DONE DEAL! Manchester United secure Sergio Reguilon on loan
And here’s another Tottenham departure. Erik ten Hag gave the game away earlier but Manchester United have now confirmed the signing of Sergio Reguilon on loan. The Spain international offers experienced left back cover after Luke Shaw’s injury.
DONE DEAL! Japhet Tanganga departs Spurs
I mentioned a little bit earlier that Spurs are in offloading mode - defender Japhet Tanganga is joining Augsburg on loan, with an obligation to buy next summer. It never quite happened for the academy graduate at Tottenham, but the 24-year-old is comfortable centrally or on the right of defence, and will get a chance to impress in a league where plenty of young Englishmen have thrived over the last few years.
Burnley and Chelsea agree Ian Maatsen deal
Various outlets are reporting that Chelsea have agreed a deal that would see left back Ian Maatsen join Burnley on an initial loan before a permanent move for £31.5m next summer. The 21-year-old spent last season with Vincent Kompany’s side but is not, it is believed, currently keen on a return - though that is a developing situation.
