From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Liverpool travel to West Brom in search of all three points as they bid to secure a top-four finish. As for the home team, Tony Pulis’ men continue to sit pretty in the middle of the table with 44 points to their name having enjoyed a respectable season so far.

(Odds provided by Bet 888)

49 min: Robson-Kanu is shown yellow for a not-so-sneaky stamp on Can's foot. Completely uncalled for.

52 min: Another silly foul from Evans as he drags Origi to the deck inside his own final third. A Liverpool free-kick follows but West Brom keep their cool to clear the danger.

Samuel Lovett16 April 2017 14:40

55 min: Origi gets hold of possession on the edge of the West Brom box and looks to whip the ball into the top right corner. He can't get enough curl on it though as attempt sails out for a goal-kick.

Samuel Lovett16 April 2017 14:44

57 min: Chance for Liverpool! Coutinho had been put in behind down the right flank and with a lovely, perfectly weighted lob cut the ball back to the incoming Milner at the far post. From eight or so yards out, the defender simply had to hold his nerve to fire the ball into the back of the net but completely fluffed his volleyed attempt. West Brom goal-kick.

Samuel Lovett16 April 2017 14:47

60 min: Goal.... but it's offside! Lucas picked out Firmino inside the West Brom box who nodded the ball across the goal mouth to Origi. The Liverpool forward rose like a salmon to meet the delivery and nod the ball into the back of the net but it wasn't to be. Firmino had been stood in an offside position, cancelling out the goal.

65 min: Milner floats one in from the left. Forster rushes from his line to punch it away but can only clear it as far as the edge of his own box. Liverpool recycle before Evans concedes another foul on the right-hand byline.

Samuel Lovett16 April 2017 14:54

66 min: Milner delivers the free-kick to the far back post and it's Matip who gets there first, timing his run to perfection to make the sweetest of connections with the ball. His aim is way off though and the headed effort sails out for a West Brom goal-kick.

Samuel Lovett16 April 2017 14:55

70 min: West Brom have looked a little ragged for the past 10 minutes but they're slowly making their way back into the game. A period of sustained pressure sees Lucas bring down Phillips on the left-hand side touchline. West Brom free-kick. It's pumped forward but Liverpool deal with it comfortably.

74 min: Livermore brings down Origi a few yards out from his own box. Liverpool free-kick. Coutinho delivers from the left but the West Brom defence gets a head to it to steer the ball away for a corner.

80 min: Chance for West Brom! Robson-Kanu was put through on goal and simply had to put the ball past Mignolet but the Liverpool keeper spread himself well to deny the home side a late equaliser. Fantastic bit of goal-keeping but the Welshman should have done better.
