Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to keep pace with Premier League leaders Liverpool as Mauricio Pochettino’s side look for a fourth consecutive win of the season when they travel to Watford .

Spurs can join the Reds and Chelsea at the top of the table, but they face a Watford side that also boasts a 100 per cent record this season with three wins from three. But Spurs will be looking to take momentum from their victory over Manchester United last Monday night, and with Harry Kane and Lucas Moura both in-form, a testing day looks on the cards for the Hornets.

Watford manager Javi Gracia has a near-full-strength side to choose from, but Spurs are without injured goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris as well as midfielder Moussa Sissoko, while Son Heung-min remains on international duty. Erik Lamela is also a doubt as he faces a late fitness test at Vicarage Road.

64 mins: Great work and lots of tenacity from Kieran Trippier wins a corner. What's going to come of it?

Nathan Jacobs2 September 2018 17:21

65 mins: Nothing. Watford clear.

66 mins: WATFORD CHANCE!

Watford breakaway after Spurs have a great chance of their own but it's really great work from Troy Deeney and his ball into the box is dealt with by Alderweireld...just.

The defender gets a flick on it and heads it towards his own goal but it clashes against the bar and post before going out for safety.

67 mins: Watford upping the ante here and win a free kick with Dembele going into the book.

Nathan Jacobs2 September 2018 17:24

GOAL! Watford 1-1 Tottenham (Deeney, 68)

And they score from it!

Holebas' freekick is into a dangerous area and it's flicked on by Troy Deeney who deserves his goal.

Could go either way, this.

73 mins: Watford are the team in the ascendancy now and really pumped up by their equaliser.

Nathan Jacobs2 September 2018 17:31

71 mins: THINGS HAVE HEATED UP!

Marcus Rashford has been sent off for a silly headbutt.

Nathan Jacobs2 September 2018 17:32

GOAL! WATFORD 2-1 TOTTENHAM (CATHCART, 75)

WOW. WOW. WOW.

Corner sent in meets the head of Craig Cathcart and the net ripples.

Nathan Jacobs2 September 2018 17:33

Moments before Rashford's red card, Pogba missed a penalty to put the game to bed.

The games have well and truly heated up now.
