24 mins: The Rose and Kane combination has West Brom in trouble once again as the former's cross has the latter volleying for goal at the back post. Chris Brunt decides to show the Tottenham striker how to volley a ball, but only succeeds in slicing behind.
26 mins: GOAL! TOTTENHAM 2 WEST BROM 0:
Tottenham have a second! West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster had done brilliantly to deny Harry Kane moments earlier, but he could do nothing about Christian Eriksen's shot from outside the box as it took two hefty deflections off defenders to deceive him. At the moment, it looks as though it's going down in the record books as a Gareth McAuley own-goal.
30 mins: DISALLOWED GOAL!
The home side are running riot, and for a split-second, Dele Alli thinks he has added a wonderful third. The youngster just went too early as Christian Eriksen chipped a pass over a static Albion backline; the resulting flicked volley past Foster was delightful, but the offside flag was up before the Tottenham man could raise his arms in celebration.
34 mins: There's no offside flag this time as Kane times his run to the near post perfectly to meet Walker's fizzed low cross. The first-time shot isn't bad either but Foster is equal to it, denying the striker brilliantly with his feet.
35 mins: Another minute, another Harry Kane chance. The striker took aim from distance, only to see his 20-yard shot flicked on to the base of the right post by more brilliance from Foster.
38 mins: Some brief West Bromwich Albion respite as James Morrison controls the ball in the Tottenham area with his first touch...only to miscontrol the ball in the Tottenham area with his second, knocking it out for a goalkick.
"It's embarrassing if you're a West Brom player," remarks Alan Smith before adding a reason that can probably be deemed unnecessary in the grand scheme of things.
44 mins: White Hart Lane is bizarrely quiet considering how in control of the game Tottenham are. Maybe the home fans are just bored now with what has been a completely one-sided contest. Instead they're just chatting amongst themselves about Donald Trump or the current series of Sherlock.
SECOND HALF KICK-OFF: There are no half-time changes as Tottenham get the second half underway. If the West Brom players were left shellshocked by Spurs first half performance, it will be nothing compared to the dressing room dressing down they would have received from Tony Pulis during the break. Will it have any kind of effect?
