From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.A late strike from Jose Holebas earned Watford a 1-1 draw at a rain-soaked Southampton on Saturday and extended the home side's winless run to eight Premier games, increasing the pressure on manager Mark Hughes.
Manolo Gabbiadini gave the Saints the lead with a smart turn and finish in the 20th minute, profiting from good work by Danny Ings, who picked Roberto Pereyra's pocket inside the penalty area and played in his fellow striker following a corner.
The goal was the Italian's first of the season but Holebas equalised in the 82nd to deny the Saints a much-needed victory and leave them one place above the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference ahead of the international break.
The ball broke to Watford's Greek defender just outside the Southampton area after bouncing off Gerard Deulofeu and he advanced into the box before unleashing a left-foot strike that flew past keeper Alex McCarthy after taking a deflection.

A deflected effort sees the visitors draw level. Cedric Soares turns his back on the German-born Greek's shot after the hosts fail to clear the ball, and it sees Holebas' shot loop over McCarthy and in.

Not a classic at the King Power today but thoughts were definitely elsewhere today for the home fans.
There were some decent chances for Leicester in the first half, but they failed to take them and have to srttle for a point against a dogged Burnley.

So the spoils are shared on the south coast. Southampton went ahead through Manolo Gabbiadini and then thought they had doubled the lead when Charlie Austin slotted home.
That effort was ruled out for offside against Maya Yoshida, and then the salt was rubbed into the wounds with a Holebas equaliser eight minutes from time.
Full Time: Huddersfield 1-1 West Ham
The third draw of the afternoon and it will be an agonising one for thr hosts. The began brilliantly through an Alex Pritchard strike and looked comfortable for large parts before Felipe Anderson popped up with his third goal in two games to ensure a point for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
