Manolo Gabbiadini gave the Saints the lead with a smart turn and finish in the 20th minute, profiting from good work by Danny Ings, who picked Roberto Pereyra's pocket inside the penalty area and played in his fellow striker following a corner.
The goal was the Italian's first of the season but Holebas equalised in the 82nd to deny the Saints a much-needed victory and leave them one place above the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference ahead of the international break.
The ball broke to Watford's Greek defender just outside the Southampton area after bouncing off Gerard Deulofeu and he advanced into the box before unleashing a left-foot strike that flew past keeper Alex McCarthy after taking a deflection.

Callum Wilson has been in scintillating goalscoring form, but he cannot believe he hasn't scored here. He heads over from close range from a David Brooks cross.

And now a chance for the hosts, but Matt Ritchie stabs wide of the goal from Ayoze Perez's cross.

Half chance for Andre Gray, but the power is taken out of his shot through a deflection and McCarthy collects easily.
74 min: Leicester 0-0 Burnley
Still no goal at Leicester, but Sean Dyche is doing his best to get one from his side, bringing on Ashley Barnes for Sam Vokes.
GOAL! Huddersfield 1-1 West Ham (Anderson 74')
The Brazilian's first away goal and he finishes off a move he began. Marko Arnautovic, Michail Antonio and Chicharito all fail to find the net, but there is no such problem for Felipe Anderson who smashes home into the top corner.
