From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The hosts will fully expect to continue this against a Crystal Palace who also come into the game with confidence. Follow it live:

What time does it start?

Southampton vs Crystal Palace kicks off at 7.45pm.

Where can I watch it?

The match will not be shown live in the UK. Highlights will be shown on Match of the Day at 10.45pm on BBC One.

It’s a big game for…

Julian Speroni: With Crystal Palace’s injury problems in the goalkeeping position, third choice Speroni has been drafted in and suffered a horror game last time out in the league against Liverpool when he was at fault for two of their goals. The Italian was inspired against Tottenham on Sunday however and it seems that he is now a man on a mission to prove his class and produce in what could be his final appearances for the club.

Best stat…

11: It’s been 11 years since there was a stalemate in a meeting between these two sides.

Remember when…

Southampton beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in the 1976 FA Cup semi-final.

Player to watch…

James Ward-Prowse: Saints’ midfielder Ward-Prowse has scored in both of his last two league appearances, including a superb 20-yard effort against Everton, and is starting to fulfil on his potential under Hasenhuttl.
