Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain celebrates after scoring Liverpool's third goal
66' - Liverpool are really struggling in possession here. They're giving the ball away so cheaply. Jurgen Klopp could do with giving his players a lesson in game management.
68' - Liverpool work the ball nicely as they go in search of a fourth goal but a move involving Emre Can, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Roberto Firmino ends with Sadio Mane lashing a shot over the crossbar when a pass might've been better advised.
69' - Roberto Firmino skips past Winston Reid to get in on goal but he drags his finish wide with only Joe Hart to beat. That should've been game over.
73' - West Ham make their final substitution of the match as Diafra Sakho replaces Chicharito.
GOAL! West Ham 1-4 Liverpool (Salah)
76' - What a superb finish. Sadio Mane drives past a couple of West Ham players before chipping a pass to Mo Salah on the edge of the penalty area. The Egyptian takes a touch to set himself before drilling the ball across Joe Hart and into the far corner of the goal.
