From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

With Manchester United and Liverpool’s lunch-time battle at Old Trafford now settled, all attentions now turn to the 3pm kick-offs around the Premier League.

Everton are looking to get their season back on track when they welcome Brighton and Hove Albion to Goodison Park while Huddersfield attempt to keep up their good form of late against Swansea City.

Newcastle United and Southampton face off at St James’ Park as the Premier League’s two claret and blue teams West Ham United and Burnley do battle at the London Stadium.

Bottom-of-the-table West Bromwich Albion play Leicester City needing three points if they are to avoid relegation this season.

9: Save from Hennessey! Kante's shuffled shot floats towards goal but Giroud, who was onside, waves a leg at it but can't make contact.

10: Zappacosta has a shot blocked cutting inside from the right flank. It looks like the Blues are going to try and make in-roads down that flank. Chelsea slowly taking control of the game.

Zappacosta has been busy so far this evening.

12: SO CLOSE! Andros Townsend for Palace almost pulls off a 'howitzer', striking a bouncing ball left-footed from the edge of the 'D' towards goal but it's just a fraction too high. Courtois, in goal for the Blues, was getting nowhere near that.

Jack Austin10 March 2018 17:42

15: Chelsea attempting playing the ball around delicately outside the Palace penalty area, orchestrated by Eden Hazard. But then the ball falls to Kante, who, like a luddite trying to send an email, squanders possession. 0-0.

17: Pop-shot from Willian. Not entirely sure what that phrase means but it fits that strike aptly. Left-footed, low, daisy-cutter esque but not quite, yet easily saved by Hennessey. Everything he has had to do so far has been pretty straightforward. Chelsea's build-up play, though, has been impressive in the early stages.

22: Half-way through the first-half already. You're not missing much, former Chelsea man Patrick van Aanholt is down receiving treatment. Chelsea have a corner.

Jack Austin10 March 2018 17:52

23: Ah.The corner is taken short, worked nicely around the edges of the penalty area, and then Willian blazes it over the cross-bar.

GOAL! WILLIAN FOR CHELSEA

Jack Austin10 March 2018 17:54

25: Willian wakes the Stamford Bridge hordes from their slumber with a deflected effort from outside the area. He cuts inside from the left flank, finds the space outside the area and fires right-footed low and hard. It deflects off the foot of Kelly who inexplicably turns his back, diverting the ball away from Hennessey towards the post and in. 1-0!
