From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It's a promising start for the home side, with Oxlade-Chamberlain pulling the ball back inside of the box, into the path of Ozil, but he fails to convert. It's a great block by a sea of blue shirts.

The pre-planned free-kick goes all wrong for Arsenal, as Ozil lays it off Oxlaid-Chamberlain who messes up his through ball and wastes the opportunity. The Arsenal players in the box look frustrated. This was a free kick that's been wasted from a promising area.

YELLOW CARD

Oxlaid-Chamblerain charges down the left wing and it's too much for the Bournemouth skipper. Francis is the second player to see a yellow card in the early stages of the game.

Arsenal are controlling possession at the moment, as they string passes together and slowly progress up the pitch. It's a positive start from the home side.

GOAL

ARSENAL 1 - 0 BOURNEMOUTH

A defensive nightmare from Cook puts Sanchez through on goal in a one on one scenario with Federici and there's no chance that he will miss from there.

The defender tried to pass the ball, but instead he gave Sanchez a gift and an inevitable chance to put his side ahead. Bournemouth were architects of their own downfall there.

SUBSTITUTION

Debuchy is replaced by Gabriel.

Following a highly anticipated wait for his return to The Gunners side, injury has struck and he's heading down the tunnel. You can't help but to feel sorry for the Frenchman.
