From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Leicester City 2-2 Middlesbrough

Liverpool 2-0 Sunderland

Swansea City 5-4 Crystal Palace

Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

76 MINS

Shaqiri is forced to the floor on the edge of the box, by Capoue. This a dangerous place to give away a free kick. However, it looked although Capoue was just standing his ground.

They'll want to test Gomes from here.

It's an anticlimactic strike from Shaqiri, that went straight into the Watford wall. Poor. That's all I can say about that strike.

SUBSTITUTION

Amrabat is replaced by Okaka.

It hasn't been the greatest performance today for the Dutchman, who continuously gave away fouls and failed to make the right decisions going forward.

The home fans will be hoping that the 27 year old replacement can make the difference.

Watford continue to charge into the final third, but they just can't convert and secure the equaliser. Deeney goes for a headed attempt from close range, but it fails to even test Gomes as it flies over the bar.

A Watford corner is sent deep into the box by Pereyra, but it meets the head of Crouch who heads the ball into the path of Shaqiri.

RED CARD

Britos receives his second yellow card of the fixture, after pulling down Shaqiri from behind. It's the right decision.

A bad day for Watford takes another turn for the worst.

There will be a minimum of four additional minutes.

FULL TIME

WATFORD 0 - 1 STOKE CITY

The Stoke side leave Vicarage Road with the deserved three points, thanks to an early own goal from Gomes.

Despite late attempts from Watford to salvage an equaliser - it was too little, too late. The first half performance from the home side was dismal, with little determination shown and the wrong tactical approach.

There's room for improvement for both sides judging on today's performance, but the right team won on the day.

Up next, we will have live updates as Arsenal host Bournemouth for the 14:15 kick off. Team news coming up next...
