From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The players begin to march out onto the pitch here at Vicarage Road to begin our Super Sunday.  Stoke enter the clash five points behind the Hornets - so they've got a task to do to close the gap.

It's a steady start from both sides, as the players begin to find their feet here at Vicarage Road. Stoke appear to be controlling possession so far, as they slowly press up the field with a string of simple passes.

Holebas goes to ground following a clash with Diouf. Mazzarri will be hoping to not have to look to his subs bench this early on.

There's a flurry of goalmouth activity here from Stoke. Janmaat delivers a set piece into the box, but an overhead kick from Diouf on the end of it isn't enough to test the keeper. Martins Indi then fires a strike at Gomes, but it's easily dealt with.

It's been a positive start here from Stoke, as they are controlling the speed and tempo of the play so far. They continue to charge towards the final third, but are so far, lacking the final product.

A low, hard crossed ball from Diouf is buried into the box, but it's too fast for Walters.
