It was a good day for the Merseyside clubs as Liverpool thrashed Brighton 5-1 and Everton beat Huddersfield 2-0.
Elsewhere, Watford drew 1-1 with Tottenham and West Brom vd Crystal Palace ended goalless.
Leicester beat Burnley 1-0 while Stoke claimed a vital three points with a narrow 2-1 win.
Relive all of the action below.
Watford 1-1 Spurs
What an effort! Watford go agonisingly close to regaining the lead but Abdoulaye Doucoure's shot from distance smacks the inside of the post and bounces across the face of goal before Spurs scramble the ball clear.
Stoke 2-1 Swansea
Mame Biram Diouf goes close to extending Stoke's lead but his header from Xherdan Shaqiri's cross goes just wide.
Brighton 1-3 Liverpool
Glenn Murray gets on the end of Shane Duffy's knockdown but his volley on the turn goes marginally wide of Simon Mignolet's goal.
GOAL! Everton 2-0 Huddersfield (Calvert-Lewin, 73)
Wayne Rooney leads an Everton counter-attack and he finds Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who cuts inside on his left foot and beats Jonas Lossl in the Huddersfield goal with the help of a huge deflection.
Brighton 1-3 Liverpool
Jose Izquierdo plays a neat one-two on the edge of the box with a teammate before unleashing a shot on goal. However, Trent Alexander-Arnold makes a superb block to keep Liverpool's two-goal lead intact.
GOAL! Brighton 1-4 Liverpool (Coutinho, 87)
That's genius. Liverpool win a free-kick on the edge of the area and Philippe Coutinho dispatches it, rolling the ball underneath the jumping wall and past the stranded Mat Ryan.
GOAL! Brighton 1-5 Liverpool (Dunk OG, 89)
Lewis Dunk heads Philippe Coutinho's teasing cross past Mat Ryan and into his own net. It's a rout at the Amex.
