From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Here's how that first half looks in the Fantasy Football world. Not great for managers, including myself, who are heavily reliant on Manchester City players.
The second half is about to get underway. Can West Ham hold on and see out the result of the season so far?
Look away now West Ham defenders, Gabriel Jesus is coming on for Danilo.
46: Fabain Delph has returned to left back and it looks like City are playing 4-4-2. Back to the football and City win a free kick which Kevin De Bruyne crosses and West HHam just about clear their lines.
48: Corner for West Ham, it shouldn't be though, it came off a Hammer last. Aaron Cresswell takes and City clear.
52: Leroy Sane dances into the box and pulls back a pass to Jesus who shoots at goal but Raheem Sterling is in the way and offside.
53: West Ham pump the ball up the field and into City's half but nobody is there. Diafra Sakho is the furthest forward but he is way inside his own half. David Moyes is on the touchline urging his players to get up the pitch.
55: Should be a red card. Fabian Delph dances through a series of challenges and Declan Rice trips him up right on the edge of the box. Mike Dean has let the youngster off who is already on a a yellow card.
