From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Manchester City have the chance to wrap up the Premier League title earlier than any top-flight champion before them, with the added bonus of doing so against their fierce rivals Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola’s side will guarantee their second trophy of the season if they beat United, having already secured the EFL Cup in February, but will hope that they do not suffer a repeat performance of the 3-0 hammering they suffered at the hands of Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Sergio Aguero returns to the bench, with Guardiola rotating his side slightly with one eye on the Champions League quarter-final second leg next Tuesday, while United manager Jose Mourinho is able to select from a squad that is nearly at full fitness with only Sergio Romero and Daley Blind unlikely to feature.

Well, we all know what happened six years ago.
89' - What a save!
David de Gea produces another wonderful stop as he tips Sergio Aguero's header from point-blank range over the crossbar.
Best goalkeeper in the world? Absolutely!
90' - More late drama!
Raheem Sterling thinks he's equalised for City from a corner but his left-footed shot from just three yards out hits the post.
This has been one of the, if not the, games of the season.
90+3' - Gabriel Jesus is booked for a cynical challenge on Ander Herrera.
Two more minutes of the signalled five added minutes to play.
Full-time - Manchester City 2-3 Manchester United

Post-match reaction from Jose Mourinho
"Credit for the boys, they believed and they kept the shape.
"It's an important result for us. We need six points to finish in the top four.
"We've got three matches home and three away and I'm pretty confident. To finish second is important too.
"Our challenge is to finish second. Of course City are frustrated because they wanted to win the title today but I congratulate them for the title, they deserve the title."
Jose in a playful mood in his post-match TV interview.
This is what he had to say about Paul Pogba's match-winning display:
"If it's true that his agent offered him to some other clubs, now the price has gone up."
