Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Manchester City have the chance to wrap up the Premier League title earlier than any top-flight champion before them, with the added bonus of doing so against their fierce rivals Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola’s side will guarantee their second trophy of the season if they beat United, having already secured the EFL Cup in February, but will hope that they do not suffer a repeat performance of the 3-0 hammering they suffered at the hands of Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Sergio Aguero returns to the bench, with Guardiola rotating his side slightly with one eye on the Champions League quarter-final second leg next Tuesday, while United manager Jose Mourinho is able to select from a squad that is nearly at full fitness with only Sergio Romero and Daley Blind unlikely to feature.

43' - Another huge chance comes and goes for City as Fernandinho finds the unmarked Ilkay Gundogan in the box with a great cross. However, the German spurns the chance to double his tally for the day as he puts his header straight the grateful David de Gea.
45' - Romelu Lukaku joins Ander Herrera in the book for a late challenge on Vincent Kompany.
Herrera picked up a booking a few minutes ago for a cynical hack at Fernandinho.
Half-time - Manchester City 2-0 Manchester United
The referee brings an end to the opening period and City have blown United away in this first half.
They're within touching distance of the title after first-half goals from Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan.
49' - Paul Pogba has United's first shot on target but his effort from distance doesn't test Ederson, who makes a comfortable save.
The visitors have started this second half brightly, to be fair to them.
51' - Woodwork!
Ilkay Gundogan skims the outside of the post with a placed effort from Raheem Sterling's cut-back.
David de Gea was getting nowhere near that.
GOAL! Manchester City 2-1 Manchester United (Pogba, 53)
Game on!
Paul Pogba rounds off a lovely move as he slots home from a delightful chested assist by Ander Herrera.
Kudos to Alexis Sanchez, too, for picking out Herrera in the box with a lovely run and cross.
GOAL! Manchester City 2-2 Manchester United (Pogba, 55)
Two goals in three minutes for Paul Pogba!
Alexis Sanchez delivers another great cross and Pogba provides the final touch again as he heads past Ederson and into the corner!
You couldn't write this stuff.
Reckon City's multi-billionaire owners could find the funds for Pogba now, Pep?
