Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Pep Guardiola will hope that his Manchester City side can bounce back from their defeat at the weekend with a victory over Burnley at the Etihad Stadium.
The away form of Sean Dyche's Clarets leaves a lot to be desired. Burnley have picked up just one point on the road this season, the worst record of any team in the division.
For City, Sergio Aguero has been dropped to the bench, along with John Stones, Pablo Zabaleta and David Silva. Kelechi Iheanacho, Bacary Sagna, Jesus Navas and Gael Clichy start.

It’s a big game for…
Kevin De Bruyne: Last time out against Liverpool the Belgian struggled to really get anything going for City. He’ll need to pick himself up for this game because Burnley are flying at the moment. He is usually instrumental in the majority of City’s attacks.
Best stat…
7: Burnley have managed to score at least one goal in each of their last seven league fixtures against Manchester City.
Remember when…
Burnley came from two goals down to grab a 2-2 draw at the Etihad in December 2014. David Silva and Fernandinho gave City a 2-0 lead going into half-time, but second half goals from George Boyd and Ashley Barnes secured a point for the Clarets.
Player to watch…
Andre Gray: The Burnley frontman just can’t stop scoring at the moment and grabbed himself a hat-trick in the 4-1 drubbing of Sunderland on New Year’s Eve. Gray is a dynamic forward who will look to find gaps in the City defence and could exploit the centre-backs with his electric pace.
Past three meetings…
Burnley 1 (Marney) Manchester City 2 (Aguero 2), Premier League, November 2016
Burnley 1 (Boyd) Manchester City 0, Premier League, March 2015
Manchester City 2 (Silva, Fernandinho) Burnley 2 (Boyd, Barnes)

This is your ten-minute warning. Four more Premier League games are imminent and they include opportunities for both Manchester City and Liverpool to increase the pressure on Chelsea with the Blues not in action until Wednesday.
We'll have news of every goal, LOL and pivotal moment as they happen.
KICK-OFF: Whistles are blown simultaneously, and we are underway at Goodison Park, the Etihad Stadium, the Stadium of Light and the Hawthorns.
4 mins: Everton 0 Southampton 0: On Soccer Saturday, Alan McInally is reporting that Southampton are currently down to ten men with Cedric receiving treatment after colliding with a metal chair. Ma Gawd! Book him in for WrestleMania.
9 mins: Sunderland 0 Liverpool 0: "Sunderland are under the cosh," remarks Charlie Nicholas almost everyone at some point. A neat Liverpool move ends with Daniel Sturridge sliding an effort across goal that Vito Mannone is required to flick around the post. Good shot, good save.
19 mins: GOAL! SUNDERLAND 0 LIVERPOOL 1:
Liverpool lead and it had been coming! An outswinging James Milner corner from the left was met by Dejan Lovren. On the volley but not the fullest of connections, the ball spun into the ground and hung in the air above the six-yard box. Reacting quickest was Daniel Sturridge, who twisted on the spot before expertly looping a header beyond Vito Mannone in the Sunderland goal.
21 mins: GOAL! WEST BROM 0 HULL 1:
Another goal that had been coming, but this one is more of a surprise. Robert Snodgrass has struggling Hull City in the lead, the Scot sliding in a volley after Ahmed Elmohamady had centred from the right. As it stands, the Tigers move above Sunderland and level with Crystal Palace.
25 mins: PENALTY! GOAL! SUNDERLAND 1 LIVERPOOL 1:
Jermain Defoe levels it up at the Stadium of Light from the spot. David Moyes' team have forced a number of chances despite falling behind, and when Ragnar Klavan dived in on Didier N'Dong, Anthony Taylor had no hesitation in pointing for a penalty.
Defoe stepped up and powered a right-footed shot low past former Sunderland stopper Simon Mignolet into the bottom left corner.
