Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Pep Guardiola will hope that his Manchester City side can bounce back from their defeat at the weekend with a victory over Burnley at the Etihad Stadium.
The away form of Sean Dyche's Clarets leaves a lot to be desired. Burnley have picked up just one point on the road this season, the worst record of any team in the division.
For City, Sergio Aguero has been dropped to the bench, along with John Stones, Pablo Zabaleta and David Silva. Kelechi Iheanacho, Bacary Sagna, Jesus Navas and Gael Clichy start.

It’s a big game for…
Kevin De Bruyne: Last time out against Liverpool the Belgian struggled to really get anything going for City. He’ll need to pick himself up for this game because Burnley are flying at the moment. He is usually instrumental in the majority of City’s attacks.
Best stat…
7: Burnley have managed to score at least one goal in each of their last seven league fixtures against Manchester City.
Remember when…
Burnley came from two goals down to grab a 2-2 draw at the Etihad in December 2014. David Silva and Fernandinho gave City a 2-0 lead going into half-time, but second half goals from George Boyd and Ashley Barnes secured a point for the Clarets.
Player to watch…
Andre Gray: The Burnley frontman just can’t stop scoring at the moment and grabbed himself a hat-trick in the 4-1 drubbing of Sunderland on New Year’s Eve. Gray is a dynamic forward who will look to find gaps in the City defence and could exploit the centre-backs with his electric pace.
Past three meetings…
Burnley 1 (Marney) Manchester City 2 (Aguero 2), Premier League, November 2016
Burnley 1 (Boyd) Manchester City 0, Premier League, March 2015
Manchester City 2 (Silva, Fernandinho) Burnley 2 (Boyd, Barnes)

(Odds provided by Betfair)
70 mins: Two good headed chances in the space of 60 seconds! First, Leonardo Ulloa planted Christian Fuch's corner straight into the arms of Brad Guzan, and then at the other end, Adam Forshaw mistimed his aerial involvement in his attempt to meet George Friend's excellent cross from the left, and allowed the ball to bobble safely through to Kasper Schmeichel.
73 mins: A couple of changes for Leicester City. First, Ahmed Musa took over from Riyad Mahrez, and now another tricky wide player in Demarai Gray is on for Shinji Okazaki.
83 mins: Ramirez should have won it for Middlesbrough! A Fabio cross from the right wing was headed lazily away by Wes Morgan, straight to the Uruguayan ten yards from goal. Deciding to take on the chance first time, the unmarked playmaker fizzed a half-volley into the side-netting with Kasper Schmeichel stranded. It was the best chance of 83 unmemorable minutes.
86 mins: There's a break in play as Ben Gibson receives treatment for a head injury. Looking on, Middlesbrough Chairman Steve Gibson is an anxious man. I'm not sure if it's because of concern he has for his nephew's wellbeing or because he knows it's going mean this game drags on a few minutes extra.
90 mins: Yep. There will be five more minutes of this rubbish. A goal now would just annoy me.
90+4 mins: Middlesbrough are pressing. Just not very well.
Come on ref, put us all out of our misery.
90+6 mins: Gaston Ramirez brings down Andy King 30 yards from goal. It will be a free-kick to Leicester. They couldn't, could they?
