From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.Liverpool take on Southampton this Saturday at Anfield with both teams in need of a result for different reasons.
Jurgen Klopp's side arrive in form having won all three games since that 4-1 humbling by Tottenham at Wembley, scoring 10 goals in the process, and are desperate to keep up the pressure on the top four.
The Saints have picked up only one point from their past two games but Mauricio Pellegrino is confident he can bring an upturn in results and Anfield would be as good a place as any to make a statement of intent.
Sadio Mane returned to training this week and is expected to be available for Liverpool following a minor injury on international duty, while Klopp is expected to be on the touchline despite being unwell this week.

What time does it start?
The game kicks off at the Anfield at 3pm on Saturday 18 November.
Where can I watch it?
The game won't be broadcast on British television. Follow the action in our live blog above.
It’s a big game for…
Jurgen Klopp. The manager was taken to hospital this week but returned to oversee training and is expected to be pitchside for the match. Liverpool were on something of a roll and the international break therefore came at an inconvenient moment. With Tottenham meeting Arsenal in the early kick-off Liverpool have the chance to haul themselves in amongst the chasing pack behind Manchester City. Klopp's side cannot afford anything less than three points.
Remember when…
Southampton last beat Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League? In 2013 the future Reds defender Dejan Lovren scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 away victory for the Saints.
Player to watch…
Mohamed Salah. With 13 goals in his opening 19 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, the Egyptian forward has already shown himself to be a canny purchase by the Anfield hierarchy. His recent form, with six goals in his past five games, makes him the man to stop.
Past three meetings…
Liverpool 0 Southampton 0, Premier League, May 2017
Liverpool 0 Southampton 1, League Cup, January 2017
Southampton 1 Liverpool 0, League Cup, January 2017

Odds…
Liverpool to win: 2/5
Draw: 15/4
Southampton to win: 13/2
1 min: GOAL! CRYSTAL PALACE 1 EVERTON 0:
Fifty-one seconds on the clock and James McArthur has fired Crystal Palace into the lead. Michael Keane afforded Ruben Loftus-Cheek too much spare, and when the Chelsea loanee's shot was pushed out by Jordan Pickford, there was McArthur to tuck home the rebound. The perfect start for Roy Hodgson's team!
3 mins: Leicester 0 Manchester City 0: A huge let-off for Manchester City and their club captain, Vincent Kompany. The Belgian defender found himself the wrong side of Jamie Vardy as the Leicester striker was sent clear, and promptly bought him crashing to the floor. A clear goalscoring opportunity? With Vardy's pace and Kompany's knees, you bet it was but referee Graham Scott didn't see it that way. The arbiter only produced a yellow card and the league leaders will not have to play 87 minutes with ten men.
6 mins: GOAL! CRYSTAL PALACE 1 EVERTON 1
Hmmm, perhaps it isn't quite the perfect start for Roy Hodgson's team! Leighton Baines has brought Everton level within five minutes, and it came from the penalty spot. Anthony Taylor awarded the spotkick after Oumar Niasse took a tumble under pressure from Scott Dann, and left-back Baines rarely passes up such opportunities to get himself on the scoresheet.
17 mins: GOAL! WEST BROM 0 CHELSEA 1:
Chelsea lead through Alvaro Morata! The in-form Spaniard was in the right place to mop up from close range after Ben Foster failed to hold Eden Hazard's shot on goal. The Blues confirmed themselves as Premier League champions with a win at the Hawthorns last season, and they are enjoying their time in the West Midlands once again.
23 mins: GOAL! WEST BROM 0 CHELSEA 2:
They're enjoying it even more now! Eden Hazard has been cutting a furious figure ever since Albion failed to put the ball out so he could receive treatment for an earlier injury, and now he's making them play. Following his assist for Alvaro Morata, the Belgian now has a goal of his own after the Spanish striker sent him through with a wonderful pass. An assured finish followed, and now West Brom have a lot of work to do if they are to get back into this one.
Hazard does need to keep his cool though. Moments before his strike, the forward found himself cautioned for a high challenge on Grzegorz Krychowiak.
26 mins: GOAL! BOURNEMOUTH 1 HUDDERSFIELD 0:
The deadlock has been broken at Dean Court and Callum Wilson has his first Premier League goal of the season. The former Coventry striker was gifted too much space as Jordon Ibe delivered his corner into the box, and was free to leap and head past Jonas Lössl
29 mins: GOAL! BURNLEY 1 SWANSEA 0:
A first Premier League goal in 18 months for Jack Cork and it comes against his former club. The midfielder burst into the box to meet Robbie Brady's left-wing cross, and planted his header beyond Lukasz Fabianski.
31 mins: GOAL! LIVERPOOL 1 SOUTHAMPTON 0:
A wonderful goal from Mohamed Salah! Southampton looked to have repelled the latest Liverpool attack when clearing a corner, but Dusan Tadic tried to be too clever in bringing the ball forward and was promptly tackled. Keeping the ball alive, Georginio Wijnaldum knocked a pass right to Salah, and the Egyptian added another cracker to his growing collection with a curling left-footed shot from outside the box that found the far corner via the inside of Fraser Forster's post. Brilliant!
