From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. He might be an unpopular figure at United, but he might have just struck gold.
39 min: Fulham 0-2 Manchester United
First yellow card of the game goes to Fulham's Arsenal loanee Calum Chambers, after he deliberately treds on Chris Smalling's leg.
41 min: Fulham 0-2 Manchester United
Nearly a screamer from Phil Jones!
He sees his effort tipped over the bar from Rico after the centre back's left-foot shot from just outside the box following Herrera's lay off.
43 min: Fulham 0-2 Manchester United
And now a yellow card for Matic, who stops a Fulham attack by fouling Babel.
The resulting free-kick produces a half chance, but De Gea comfortably saves from Chambers.
Half Time: Fulham 0-2 Manchester United
Hints of boos ring around the Cottage as the visitors go in 2-0 up, thanks to their French duo.
Paul Pogba gave Solskjaer's side the lead when he fired in from a tight angle with an effort that Sergio Rico ought to have saved.
Anthony Martial made it two soon after with another bit of individual brilliance from a United player at Craven Cottage, bringing back memories of Ronaldo's solo goal here nearly 12 years ago.
Fulham started very brightly but the two goals has seen the return of the timidness into their game.

Will Claudio Ranieri make any changes for the second half, with contract rebel Ryan Sessegnon and Tom Cairney among the substitutes?
Second half coming up in a few minutes.
