From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

In that streak, the team has 33 goals and has not conceded a goal in the last six games — a first under Guardiola.
Wolverhampton Wanderers avoided becoming the latest Premier League casualty only by scoring in the third minute of injury time to salvage a 2-2 draw at third-tier Shrewsbury.
Wolves, who knocked out Liverpool in the third round, rested key players for the game despite not being in genuine danger of relegation in its first season back in the Premier League.
In an all-Premier League matchup, Watford won 2-0 at Newcastle, which hasn't progressed beyond the fourth round since 2006. Brighton was taken to a replay by second-tier West Bromwich Albion after a 0-0 draw.
And after Everton were stunned by Millwall, West Ham were knocked out by AFC Wimbledon. Re-live the action:

Well, that certainly livened up in the second half!
Manchester City could have been pegged back early in the second half by Vydra but they were rampant afterwards, with De Bruyne's hammer a highlight in yet another 5-0 win over Burnley for Pep Guardiola.
Wolves needed injury time to rescue a replay against Shrewsbury. The home side went into a 2-0 lead midway through the second half but strikes from Raul Jimenez and Matt Doherty ensured Wolves were not on the end of the latest cup upset.
Doncaster needed an injury-time penalty to beat Oldham Athletic, who equalised six minutes from time.
Watford were easy winners at Newcastle thanks to Andre Gray and Isaac Success, while Swansea ran out 4-1 winners against Gillingham largely thanks to a double from Oli McBurnie.
Portsmouth and QPR, Middlesbrough and Newport and Brighton and West Brom will all join Wolves and Shrewsbury in a fourth round replay after drawing 1-1, 1-1, and 0-0 respectively.

Everton's tactics are clear, with Lucas Digne and Seamus Coleman getting forward well in these early stages.

Penalty appeal from Michael Keane, who has his neck grabbed by a Millwall defender. Nothing given though.
At the other end Jake Cooper finds space from a long free-kick but heads wide from the set-piece.

The rain is starting to really come down at The Den, and the hosts have set about to disrupt the fluidity of Everton's play, but the visitors keep creating chances.
The latest again comes from Coleman, but Richarlison completely misses his kick from the right-back's low cross.

Excellent defending from Digne, who clears a looping header from Shaun Hutchinson out of danger a couple of yards away from the goal line.
