Everton hit two late goals to beat Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

The Toffees endured a frustrating afternoon and had Jordan Pickford to thank for saving Luka Milivojević’s second-half penalty.

Substitutes Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun then scored late goals to seal all three points. Relive the match below.

It’s a big game for…

Patrick van Aanholt: The Dutchman delivered a poor performance against Wolves, giving the ball away cheaply at times and he was beaten far too easily by Matt Doherty’s movement for the goal. With the likes of Theo Walcott, Bernard and Richarlison providing both pace and excellent movement up front, Roy Hodgson will hope his limited exertions with the Netherlands have given him sufficient time to come back refreshed.

Best stat…

7: Gylfi Sigurdsson has contributed to seven goals in his last six Premier League starts against Crystal Palace. The 29-year-old Icelandic midfielder has scored three goals and registered four assists in that time against the London club.

Player to watch…

Bernard: The Brazilian has had to bide his time at Goodison Park, making just one substitute appearance in his first month on Merseyside. However, the former Shakhtar Donetsk winger was superb against Leicester, setting up Richarlison for Everton’s opener after jinking past two defenders, while showing similar skill on various other occasions. Bernard did not shy away from his defensive duties either, and those are ominous signs for Palace as the summer signing’s confidence increases.

Close. Bernard intercepts a loose pass and looks to play in Walcott. Sakho reaches out his left leg and just about cuts out the pass. The winger would have been in on goal.

A glimpse of what Gomes can do with the ball at his feet. The midfielder drives towards the Palace backline and it takes three players to stop him in his stride. Encouraging for the Toffees.

A mix up in the Everton defence nearly leads to a golden opportunity for Townsend. Zouma wins the ball well but his pass back towards Keane is left by everyone. Coleman clears just in time.

Good pressing from Everton. Silva will be happy with this. Sakho dwells on the ball at the back and Gueye charges in to stop the away side from building an attack.

A Palace free-kick is lumped up towards Kouyate again. Townsend is penalised for a foul on Coleman.

Zaha in the thick of it deep inside Palace's half. He wriggles away from several Everton challenges and looks to get his side on the front foot. Schlupp receives the ball in a good position but the attack comes to nothing. The away side must do better than that if they're to trouble the Everton backline.
