From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Kurt Zouma scored his first Everton goal as the Toffees beat Bournemouth 2-0 at Goodison Park.

The Cherries impressed for large parts of the first half and saw David Brooks hit a post after 18 minutes.

Everton, though, grabbed the opening goal just after the hour mark when Zouma headed home Digne's cross.

The hosts then wrapped up the three points when substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin converted Lookman's low cross in added time.

Alli, having come close with a header, then goes into the book for a cynical foul on Pogba, who was striding forward with purpose.

Pogba is causing all sorts of problems. He breaks into space and fires a shot off from distance. It's blocked but loops up in the air. Pogba is there again when it comes back down and tries to dink the ball over Lloris. The goalkeeper gets enough on it to tip the ball over.

Spurs come forward again and Trippier puts another cross into the box. It evades Kane, but Lamela is there. He appears to turn his head away from the ball, though, and it loops harmlessly over the bar.

Martial plays the ball into the path of Pogba, who lines up a shot on the edge of the box. His effort is deflected off Davies and Lloris is forced into an excellent save low to his right. Both sides are creating chances.

De Gea, again, saves United's defence. Alli breaks in behind, races through on goal, but can't beat the oncoming Spaniard. That should have been the equaliser.

Eriksen fires a free kick wide of the far post, a disappointing strike by his standards. Spurs have been better after the break, but some of their players look noticeably fatigued.

Trippier's cross is flicked on and finds its way through to Son, who tries to curl one in at the far post. It's deflected and loops over the bar. From the resulting corner, Alderweireld brings a superb reflex save from De Gea from close range.

De Gea clearly has no intention of conceding today. Kane lines up a free kick just outside the box, curls it over the wall and watches as De Gea plucks the ball out of the air. One for the cameras, perhaps, but another impressive save nonetheless.
