Pep Guardiola makes seven changes to his Man City side which eased past Fulham on Saturday.
Only Ederson, De Bruyne, Laporte and Zinchenko retain their place in the starting XI.
Sergio Aguero is out through injury but there is a start for Phil Foden.
Cardiff manager Neil Warnock makes only made one change to his side that narrowly lost to Chelsea on Sunday.
Harry Arter drops out and is replaced in the starting XI by Joe Ralls.
Speaking about the match Warnock says that "Man City have taken the Premier League to another level... we're 40-1 in a two-horse race."
