Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Burnley continued their good recent run with a comfortable win at Brighton.

And breathe. Wow, what an end to the five Premier League games at 3pm.

Where else would the drama be but at the bottom of the table clash at St Mary's, where Southampton looked to have snatched a point through Dale Stephens in injury time to cancel out Bamba's opener.

But Kenneth Zohore made sure Cardiff got a huge victory to rise to 15th.

Liverpool go top of the league again after beating Bournemouth 3-0 thanks to goals from Mane, Wijnaldum and Salah.

Arsenal's hunt for a clean sheet away from home goes on, but goals from Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette ensured the Gunners got back to winning ways to go level on points with Chelsea.

There was also a win for Watford against Everton as Marco Silva and Richarlison made a losing return to Vicarage Road due to Andre Gray's goal.

There was only one draw, and that game at Selhurst Park where Wilfried Zaha scored for the first time at home this season to cancel out Mark Noble's first-half penalty.
