From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Bournemouth host Arsenal in Sunday’s early kick-off – but the build-up to the match has been dominated by Alexis Sanchez.

The forward has not travelled with his team-mates to the south coast and is likely to complete a move to Manchester United in the coming hours, with City set to miss out on their man at the final hurdle.

Arsenal will still be expected to beat Bournemouth even without him in their starting XI and a win for the Gunners will take them a point behind north London rivals Tottenham. Bournemouth are meanwhile hoping to climb as high as 13th with a win.

The players are in the tunnel at the Vitality Stadium and kick-off is just five minutes away!

1' - Referee Kevin Friend gets the game underway.

4' - Chance for Bournemouth!

Charlie Daniels' cross is knocked down by Callum Wilson to Adam Smith, who shoots just wide from 20 yards.

Petr Cech was really scrambling for that one.

8' - Off the bar!

Alexandre Lacazette's cross bypasses almost everybody in the box and falls to Ainsley Maitland-Niles at the far post. The youngster controls the ball before cutting inside and lashing a shot against the crossbar.

That would've been a pretty special way for the wing-back to open his Arsenal account.

13' - Ainsley Maitland-Niles concedes possession really cheaply in the centre of the park and that allows Jordon Ibe to lead a Bournemouth counter-attack. However, the move eventually comes to nothing as Ibe's sloppy pass is easily collected by Petr Cech.

Arsenal's Jack Wilshere gestures during the early stages of the match

17' - Bournemouth have started this match brightly and Arsenal look to be lacking confidence at the moment, despite their impressive draw at Stamford Bridge in midweek.

Eddie Howe must see this game as a good chance for his team to improve their poor record against the 'Big Six'.

21' - Dan Gosling is harshly booked for diving after going down under a challenge by Shkodran Mustafi. There definitely looked to be a bit of contact there.
