The Gunners went ahead against the Magpies through Alexandre Lacazette but goals from Ayoze Perez and Matt Ritchie flipped the game on its head, leaving the Gunners all-but consigned to Europa League football.
Meanwhile, David Moyes’ Hammers will be aiming to build on their late draw with Stoke City on Monday evening in their fight for survival.

It’s a big game for…
Arsene Wenger. The Gunners have been disappointing this season and the Frenchman has earned particular criticism.
A win against West Ham is vital, especially with Burnley breathing down Arsenal’s neck in seventh. If they lose this game, his time at the Emirates may well and truly be over.
Best stat…
Arsenal have dropped 14 points from winning positions away from home in the Premier League this season – the most in the entire league. West Ham have dropped 11.
Player to watch…
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabon striker has been in excellent form since arriving at the Emirates. He has had a hand in eight goals in his opening eight games with six strikes and two assists.

Odds…
Arsenal: 4/7
West Ham: 21/4
Draw: 19/5
30: Arsenal have settled into a bit more of a rhythm and are pitching camp on the edge of the West Ham penalty area.
Danny Welbeck again shoots wide from range but fires wide. The Gunners are circling but are yet to work a good chance from open play.
33: Declan Rice wipes Danny Welbeck's feet from underneath him and Arsenal have a free kick in a central area around 20-25 yards from goal.
Granit Xhaka strikes an effort at goal towards Joe Hart and forces the goalkeeper to parry the ball away.
35: Arsenal are really warming up now. Hector Bellerin gets forward on the right and lifts a cross to the back post where Danny Welbeck arrives late and heads over.
41: We have our first yellow card and it's gone to...Granit Xhaka. He flies in on Arthur Masuaku after the West Ham winger moved the ball on. That's his ninth of the season, just nine!
45: Mohamed Elneny is in a bit of discomfort after an awkward landing appears to seriously injure his ankle. The Egyptian is stretchered off with his leg in a brace and Ainsley Maitland-Niles comes on in hims place.
Added time
Following that delay for Mohamed Elneny's injury there'll be five minutes added time before the break.
Half Time
Laurent Koscielny went close for Arsenal and headed a corner just wide of Joe Hat's post.
Chances were a rare treat at a surprisingly quiet Emirates where Marco Arnautovic was causing a few problems for the Arsenal defence who struggled to deal with the quick long passes to the lone forward.
Arnautovic's best chance came when he cut inside from the left channel and tried to curl the ball past David Ospina who read his intentions and spread himself well.
Mohamed Elneny had to be stretchered off after an awkward landing left him with an ankle injury, making him a serious doubt for Thursday's clash with Atletico Madrid.
Thierry Henry gives his damning verdict on the second half
"They've been all over the place at the back," Henry said on Sky Sports.
"It's a weird atmosphere. Arsenal didn't get a lot of chances and I don't know if it's what happened during the week, but there's no excuses. It's not good enough yet, but there's a second half."
