Arsenal have an immediate chance to gain revenge over Manchester City for their EFL Cup final defeat last weekend as they host the Premier League runaway leaders at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night in their rearranged weekend fixture.

With the match set to go ahead despite the widespread snowstorms that have battered the United Kingdom this week, Arsenal will hope for a very different result than the one they experienced at Wembley last Sunday. The Gunners head into the match 10 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, and another loss this evening would come as another serious blow to their top four hopes.

City meanwhile can restore a 16-point lead at the top of the Premier League table if they can secure the three points away from home, which would leave them just six more wins away from claiming the title. Having dispatched Arsenal 3-0 in comfortable circumstances last Sunday, Pep Guardiola’s side will be confident of another win to throw Arsenal’s season into further peril.

What time does it start?

Arsenal vs Manchester City kicks off at 19:45 at the Emirates Stadium.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event from 19:00.

Pre-match words from Arsene Wenger

On what he expects to see from his players tonight: "I expect them to come out fighting. We are playing against a side where you need to show quality. We want to combine both (fight and quality).

"We are angry because we lost the final and what it takes is of course the desire to respond and do well. These players are all proud and want to win their games. They have been questioned after the final but we played against a good side and you have to accept that in a final you can win or lose."

On his decision to switch from a back five to a back four: "We want to attack. We played a little bit more cautious at Wembley. Tonight we will see if we are more comfortable in a back four."

Thierry Henry has just had this to say about Arsenal's failure to mount a serious title charge in recent years:

"You expect the top four at least. But for me it's difficult because it's the league. Arsene used to say that you can win a cup by luck but you cannot win a league by being lucky.

"That's where you see the quality of a team for me. He has to change."

It's fair to say that Vincent Kompany is a big fan of Pep Guardiola. This is what the City skipper has had to say about his manager ahead of tonight's match:

"Every moment we've had since Pep has come in we've enjoyed. We've enjoyed learning and playing our football. There's so much more to the experience of being a part of this team at the moment.

"It's really important to look at managers. If you have a manager that hasn't brought you anything then it's probably not the right person. I wish I had him (Guardiola) when I was 20 years old."

Pre-match words from Pep Guardiola

Short but sweet from the City manager:

"We are focused. I don't have doubts about my players but there are still a lot of games to play. They are tough games. Some teams are playing for qualification to the Champions League and some are playing to stay in the Premier League so every game will be a battle."
