This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

It is Newcastle's turn to exploit space behind the opposition midfield, with Longstaff feeding Guimaraes. He in turn moves the ball on to Wilson, but the forward cannot get beyond Niakhate for a clear sight of goal and instead prods harmlessly into the defender's shins.

Forest looked vulnerable after conceding the first goal, but they have responded well to going behind again. Dubravka has to come from his line to take a Williams cross smartly.

Forest want a penalty, with Elanga again causing the problems. He gets between Burn and Gordon as he enters the box but goes down very easily, and no foul is given.

Guimaraes loses out to Dominguez in the Forest half, and Hudson-Odoi seizes on the ball, again attacking at speed. He looks right to Elanga, but the winger is this time forced wide, then seeing his cross headed behind by Botman. Dubravka gathers the subsequent corner.

Forest are clearly looking to target Burn now. Sels thumps a long pass forward, and while most of the Forest players are on the back foot, Williams sets off in pursuit of Burn and very nearly gets there. The left-back is enduring a real tough time.
