Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Aurier plays a clever pass out wide to Gibbs-White who looks to take on Mykolenko. McNeil comes over to help out his team-mate and between them, they give Forest a corner. It's delivered towards the back post and then volleyed back into the danger zone. It falls to Felipe from six yards out... and he strikes the post! What a chance!

Harrison gives away a free-kick deep inside the Everton half. Gibbs-White is standing over it and whips it into the danger zone, but Branthwaite rises above everyone and is able to clear. The young defender and Tarkowski have been solid for the most part, winning 10 duels between them.

Everton have started the second half looking to control the tempo of the game a lot more than we saw in the opening 45 minutes. However, Dyche's side are gifting the ball back to Forest too often. The Toffees have had multiple opportunities to break in numbers, but the final pass is letting them down.

Cooper will undoubtedly want to see more from his attacking players when the second half gets under way. His side have created just 0.15 expected goals (xG) so far and have failed to test Pickford with a shot on target. The Toffees have proven to be more of a threat with six shots so far with Doucoure at the heart of everything, making 11 passes in the final third, more than any other Everton player.

Forest go into the break at The City Ground level with Everton as both sides fail to break the deadlock. It's been a game of minimal chances, but the Toffees might feel disappointed not to have scored. Beto and McNeil both had opportunities to put their side in front, but Dyche will be wanting so see chances created more consistently. Cooper's men have enjoyed more of the possession but are finding it tough to breakdown the opposition defence.

Tarkowski gives the ball away on the edge of his area and it eventually falls to Sangare outside of the box. He finds Gibbs-White in space on the right-hand side and he looks to strike it first time towards the near post, but he fires it into the side netting and it's behind for a goal-kick. Everton get away with one after some sloppy play at the back.
