Follow live coverage as Newcastle United face Wolverhampton Wanderers today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Newcastle United win a free-kick a few yards inside the Wolves box. Guimaraes' long free-kick is dealt with well by Wolves as debutant Agbadou is there again to clear away the threat. It has been an impressive debut so far from the Wolves defender.

Gordon misses! Guimaraes sets up Gordon with some great work just outside the box centrally, but Gordon blazes over the bar. He does win a corner though. They take a short corner and play it into the box, before Joelinton's header at the back post is deflected behind for another corner. Wolves deal with the second corner well.

Sa is back on his feet and he will continue for now, but he is still in a lot of discomfort. It seems to be a back injury. Wolves will hope it is nothing major, particularly as Sa has been brilliant so far tonight.

Sa was well off his line as Wolves attacked and while making his way back to his goal, he seemed to be in discomfort. Sa now goes down with an injury and immediately calls for the physios to have a look. Pereira is visibly nervous on the sidelines.

Gordon is fouled by Bueno in the middle part of the pitch and Newcastle United send numbers in the box. Hall takes a shot free-kick and plays it to Gordon down the left, but Gordon's cross is comfortably collected by Sa and he sends Wolves on the counter. However, Joelinton blocks a cross from the right.
