Jurgen Klopp addresses retirement reversal rumours

Manchester United produced a stunning comeback to beat Liverpool 4-3 in an epic FA Cup quarter-final as Amad Diallo scored an 120th winner to deny Jurgen Klopp’s side their quadruple bid.

Diallo scored a breakaway goal at the death - and was then sent off for taking his shirt off in celebration - to send United through to Wembley in a dramatic finish at Old Trafford.

Liverpool had been minutes from the semi-finals, in what is Klopp’s final season at Anfield, but Marcus Rashford scored a 112th minute equaliser in extra time, before Diallo’s remarkable winner.

United will play Coventry City in the semi-finals, while the FA Cup draw handed holders Manchester City a Wembley date with Chelsea.

Man United 1-2 Liverpool

70 mins: United launch their first attack of the last 10 minutes but Fernandes’ long ball is too long for Garnacho.

Szoboszlai is replaced by Harvey Elliott for the visitors, while United bring on Antony and Maguire for Hojlund and Wan-Bissaka.

69 mins: United look out of shape here as Liverpool look to take advantage, but Wan-Bissaka does well to intercept.

Salah plays it wide to Diaz, who exchanges passes with Robertson. Salah pops up in the middle and tries to send Nunez through, but they weren’t on the same wavelength there.

68 mins: Garnacho is complaining as he presses the full-back on his own. United surely need a change soon, but who on that bench can really change a game?

Man United 1-2 Liverpool

66 mins: This game is in danger of getting away from United. They aren’t even pressing as a unit, with Fernandes chasing on his own in parts.

An awful lot of players just walking around for United when they aren’t in possession.

Man United 1-2 Liverpool

65 mins: Diaz turns inside Dalot and drives towards the box. He slips it to Salah, but the Egyptian’s shot is straight at Onana.

Man United 1-2 Liverpool

64 mins: Liverpool are keeping possession well now. They don’t look flustered at all really, with United chasing possession and the game.

Man United 1-2 Liverpool

61 mins: The game has become a bit disjointed, but Liverpool continue to break through United’s leaky defence.

Nunez is the latest to get a shot on target. He squares Varane up and beats him too easily, but his shot is too close to Onana. From the corner, Nunez heads it down to Diaz but his half-volley is blocked.

Man United 1-2 Liverpool

60 mins: Joe Gomez is booked as he flies into the challenge and catches Wan-Bissaka. Probably not a booking if Fernandes’ challenge earlier wasn’t.

Man United 1-2 Liverpool

59 mins: Mac Allister lines up the free-kick from just outside the ‘D’, but it goes narrowly over and lands on top of the net.

Man United 1-2 Liverpool

57 mins: Liverpool have a free-kick on the edge of the area after a dangerous challenge from Fernandes. He’s on a booking, so he’s lucky there.
