Manchester City ended their four match run without a win as they edged past Luton Town 2-1 at Kenilworth Road in a contest that threatened to end in another negative result for Pep Guardiola’s men.

Without Erling Haaland in the squad, the visitors struggled to capitalise on their possession the first half and, aided by some fine saves from Thomas Kaminski, Lutin kept them at bay. Elijah Adebayo leapt above everyone else to nod home the opener just before the half-time break and Luton took the lead.

In the second half, Man City picked up where they left off and pushes the Hatters deep. Bernardo Silva curled in a superb left-footed strike just after the hour mark to equalise before Jack Grealish slotted home to decisive goal to secure the points for the champions.

Relive the action from Kenilworth Road below:

73 mins: Julian Alvarez floats a free kick into the Luton box but Kaminski comes out to punch the ball away.

It falls to Kovacic who pings a volley back at goal only to see his effort blocked and the offside flag go up after the free kick was taken.

Luton 1-2 Man City

70 mins: There’s a review for a potential red card happening against Jacob Brown. He’s jumped two-footed into a tackle on Phil Foden and clipped the midfielder.

In real time the challenge doesn’t look too bad but slowed down it seems potentially horrible. VAR decides to take no action against the player though.

Just clipping Foden has saved him there.
