From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and more are open for business with the summer transfer window now officially open.

Arsenal are set to push on with their first signing of the summer with a bid for Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser set to be lodged following this week's Europa League final. A new centre-back is high on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's priority list at United with Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Leicester's Harry Maguire both options. Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka is another on the Norwegian's radar. It won't just be incomings at Old Trafford, however, with Paul Pogba a high-profile target for Real Madrid and Alexis Sanchez on his way out with Inter Milan and Juventus fighting it out for his signature - if he drops his wage demands. And Liverpool could be active too as they look to go one better after failing to win the Premier League title by just a single point.

Arsenal plan to firm up their interest in Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser after next week’s Europa League final against Chelsea, with the 25-year-old one of Unai Emery’s transfer targets this summer.

Fraser has enjoyed a fine campaign under Eddie Howe at Bournemouth, contributing 14 assists in the Premier League this season – behind only Chelsea forward Eden Hazard – and establishing himself in Scotland’s national team.

He is entering the final year of his contract after seven seasons at the Vitality Stadium, with Bournemouth eager for the player to put pen to paper on a new deal with the club.

But negotiations between the two parties have stalled and there is an acceptance at the south coast club that it would be better to sell Fraser than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Over to Germany where Bayern Munich have made a bid for Leroy Sane.

The German international has found consistent first-team football difficult to come by at Manchester City this term with the Bundesliga champs set to try and capitalise.

It's likely to take north of £70m to do it but president Uli Hoeness has confirmed talks are underway.

"We are dealing with this player," he said.

However, City have countered to offer by renewing talks over a contract extension in the hope of persuading Sane to stay.

Manchester United remain interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The French international has been widely tipped to join Barcelona on a free transfer this summer.

But the Manchester Evening News are holding out hope they can still convince him to join them.

Remember Kevin Strootman?

Napoli are in pole position to sign Kieran Trippier from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The England right-back will be allowed to leave White Hart Lane for the right offer, and the Italian side are confident of reaching a deal for a fee of roughly £25million.

Trippier has three years left on the contract he signed in the summer of 2017, but at 28 years old he is keen on the prospect of a move abroad and the deal on offer from Napoli.

Trippier has attracted interest since his impressive performances for England at last year's World Cup, and was keen on a move to Manchester United last summer.

Ed Woodward wanted to take him to Old Trafford.

But Trippier is now set to end his four-year association with Spurs this summer, as the start of a busy summer of transfers for Tottenham.

The future of Matthijs De Ligt is one of the hottest topics of the summer.

Barcelona have long appeared to be favourites to sign the Ajax captain who is set to move on from Amsterdam this summer.

But, according to Sport, Manchester United have prepared a £12m-per-year offer that they feel can persuade the 19-year-old to choose them instead.

Back down to Tottenham where they have their eye on a Championship starlet.

Leeds' Jack Clarke is the man they want.

The Daily Mail report they'll have to pay £10m to get him.
