Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and more are open for business with the summer transfer window now officially open.

Arsenal are set to push on with their first signing of the summer with a bid for Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser set to be lodged following this week's Europa League final. A new centre-back is high on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's priority list at United with Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Leicester's Harry Maguire both options. Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka is another on the Norwegian's radar. It won't just be incomings at Old Trafford, however, with Paul Pogba a high-profile target for Real Madrid and Alexis Sanchez on his way out with Inter Milan and Juventus fighting it out for his signature - if he drops his wage demands. And Liverpool could be active too as they look to go one better after failing to win the Premier League title by just a single point.

Liverpool are considering Felipe Anderson this summer, report the Mail

The Reds could make a bid for the West Ham star, who has shone under Manuel Pellegrini.

Lacking a creative spark since the departure of Philippe Coutinho, Anderson may be the solution.

Arsenal want Barcelona's Samuel Umtiti this summer.

Unai Emery would like to work with the French centre-back, who could become available if the La Liga champions sign Matthijs De Ligt.

L’Equipe claim Arsenal will make room for Umtiti by selling Laurent Koscielny, with Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan, Monaco and Rennes keen.

Dean Smith has warned clubs Jack Grealish will cost a fortune but the Aston Villa boss insisted he has never thought about losing his captain.

Villa face Derby in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final at Wembley on Monday.

Grealish would be expected to leave if Villa lose the £170million showdown despite signing a new five-year contract last September.

Tottenham were interested last year after Villa's play-off final defeat to Fulham but failed to agree a fee and Smith is not contemplating selling his star.

He said: "If we don't go up he'll cost someone a hell of a lot of money if they want to buy him. For me he is committed to Aston Villa and we've not even spoken about it otherwise.

Sergio Ramos's future at Real Madrid is in doubt.

Marca believe the Real captain could be of interest to Manchester United and PSG.

Ramos is reported to believe a move could benefit himself and the team.

Arsenal and Chelsea are tracking Reading’s teenage striker Danny Loader.

The 18-year-old impressed in the Championship this season and is tipped for a big future.

And Goal report the London rivals will be joined by Wolves, Southampton and Leicester in the race to sign him this summer.

Dillon Hoogewerf is expected to leave Ajax shortly with the youngster tipped to join Manchester United.

Head of Youth Education at Ajax Said Ouaali confirmed to the club’s official website: "Dillon has indicated last week that he will leave the club.

"He is leaving for a foreign club. We wish him a lot of success and know that we have done everything to keep him."

To Arsenal where a new goalkeeper is on the menu.

With Petr Cech walking off into the sunset - and quite probably to Chelsea - at the end of the season the Gunners need a new back-up for Bernd Leno.

Bild report that Germany U21 goalkeeper Markus Schubert, who plays for Dynamo Dresden, is a target and could move to the Emirates on a free transfer.

Huddersfield full-back Chris Lowe has joined Dynamo Dresden for an undisclosed fee following three seasons with the Terriers.

Lowe arrived in West Yorkshire from Kaiserslautern in the summer of 2016 and helped the club earn promotion to the Premier League in his first season, where he made 45 appearances in all competitions.

He played a further 56 times over the following two top-flight campaigns but, following Huddersfield's relegation to the Championship, the 30-year-old will return to Germany to link up with the second tier side.

Manchester United have seen an offer of £95m turned down by Napoli for star defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

That's according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

United are desperate for defensive reinforcements this summer with Leicester's Harry Maguire also a target.

Back to Manchester City where Leroy Sane could be on his way out.

Bayern Munich have lodged their opening offer for the German international according to the Guardian.

€80m out the gate. Wonder at what figure City do the deal?
