Gareth Bale is nearing a move to China that will see him earn an incredible £1m a week with Jiangsu Suning, but the departure could allow Real Madrid to press on with their move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
But one player potentially leaving Old Trafford may not actually depart this summer, with Inter Milan’s move for Romelu Lukaku said to be on the rocks. Arsenal meanwhile are being strongly linked with a huge offer for Nicolas Pepe, though the Lille winger has interested a number of clubs across Europe.
Manchester City meanwhile could be on the verge of losing Leroy Sane, with the Germany international wanted by Bayern Munich – who have reportedly opened talks with the Premier League champions over a summer move. Follow the live news below.
The summer transfer window closes at 5pm on Thursday 8 August for all Premier League and Championship clubs, with the rest of Europe having until 11pm CET on Monday 2 September to complete their summer transfer business.
Manchester United intend to complete the signing of Harry Maguire before moving on to Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
Maguire's signing could, according to the paper, be completed "at any moment", which would allow United to pursue Fernandes.
The player's agent, Miguel Pinho, is due in Lisbon over the coming days to discuss a deal with Sporting. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly told Ed Woodward to prioritise the signing of Fernandes over another potential target, Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Former Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has joined Vissel Kobe on a free transfer from Barcelona.
The 33-year-old was out of contract with the Blaugrana at the end of June and will join up with former teammates Andres Iniesta, David Villa and Sergi Samper at the J-League club.
Vermaelen, who made just 53 appearances in an injury-ravaged five-year spell at Barcelona, signs for Vissel Kobe on the day of a friendly between the two clubs.
Juventus could join the race to sign Romelu Lukaku and may offer Paulo Dybala to Manchester United in a potential part-exchange deal.
Lukaku has been repeatedly linked with a move to Inter, but the Nerazzurri are yet to meet United's £80m asking price.
United have twice rejected offers from Inter, and this could open the door for Juventus. The Daily Mirror report that the Serie A champions could be willing to send Dybala to Old Trafford to facilitate the transfer of Lukaku.
Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff after owner Mike Ashley ruled out a move.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise having only made his debut in December last year, attracting the attention of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a series of assured performances for Newcastle.
Longstaff signed a new four-year contract at the club in December and Ashley, speaking to the Daily Mail, has insisted he will be going nowhere this summer. "The message we want to put out is that he is not for sale,” he said. “If you’ve got one like Sean – keep him."
Watford are hopeful of completing a club record £24m deal for Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr in the coming days, according to the Daily Mail.
Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, although a deal could be delayed because the 21-year-old is on a period of extended leave after playing for Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Sarr, who has been previously linked with Barcelona, scored 13 goals in 50 appearances for Rennes last season.
Wolves are set to complete a double signing after Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo passed a medical ahead of a season-long loan move to Molineux.
The Spaniard could be joined by AC Milan striker Patrick Cutrone, who left his club's training base on Saturday to undergo talks with Wolves, according to several reports in Italy.
The 22-year-old is likely to command a fee of £16m plus add-ons, but Wolves may face a battle with Premier League rivals West Ham for his signature.
Breaking: Wolves have completed the signing of Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo on a season-long loan, with the club announcing the deal as their first move of the summer.
The move comes as Vallejo's third loan move of his career following spells with Real Zaragoza and Eintracht Frankfurt, but he has been earmarked as having a bright future and could well feature heavily this season at Molineaux.
Arsenal are "edging closer" to a deal for Celtic full back Kieran Tierney, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The Gunners have had two bids rejected for the 22-year-old, but are hopeful that a bid of £25m will be enough to secure his services.
Tierney could become Arsenal's fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Dani Ceballos, William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli.
Wolves, clearly not content to settle for the transfer business they've done already this summer, have been linked with a surprise move for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Dani Olmo.
Croatian paper SN - Sportske Novosti claim that Wolves have made a €25m offer for the 21-year-old, who has been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Spurs.
Olma impressed for Spain in the recent under-21 European Championships, and his signing would be something of a coup for Wolves given the number of big clubs interested in the youngster.
Bournemouth are close to securing the signing of Huddersfield midfielder Philip Billing for a fee of £15m.
The 23-year-old is set to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of the proposed move, according to 90min.
Billing, who was a regular in midfield for Huddersfield during their two seasons in the Premier League, is expected to sign a long term contract with the Cherries.
