From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Elsewhere, Manchester United sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan, Leicester bought Dennis Praet, Mo Besic joined Sheffield United and, in one of the more unexpected deals of the day, Manchester City signed Derby's Scott Carson on loan. Look back over these transfers, and many others, in our deadline day blog below:

WBA sign Austin
Charlie Austin has left Southampton to join Championship side West Brom on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Austin has a goals record of 70 in 132 Championship games and he could make his debut on Saturday when West Brom host Millwall.
In a statement on their website, Southampton wrote: "The club would like to thank Charlie for his efforts and we wish him well for the future."
Watford sign Sarr
Watford has signed 21-year-old Rennes winger Ismalia Sarr for a club-record deal.
After months of negotiations between the two clubs, the 21-year-old Senegalese winger has completed his switch to the Premier League.
Sarr scored 18 goals in 77 matches for Rennes, who he joined from fellow French club Metz.
Zaha is staying at Palace
Crystal Palace will not sell Wilfried Zaha to Everton in this transfer window, the club has told Sky Sports.
The club's summer business is done and no more players will be coming or going.
Brighton sign Mooy
Brighton have completed the signing of Aaron Mooy from Huddersfield on a season-long loan.
He has also signed a three-year deal with Huddersfield.
Head coach Graham Potter said: “We are delighted to welcome Aaron to the club. He has played very well over the past two seasons in the Premier League, and will bring a different option and added competition to our midfield.
“He’s been a talisman for Huddersfield in recent seasons with his performances on the field; and he’s proved to be an excellent professional both on and off the pitch.
“I’m looking forward to working with him, and he is another good addition to our squad ahead of the new season.”
Huddersfield Town Head Coach Jan Siewert said: “Aaron was adamant that he wanted to test himself again in the Premier League when Brighton’s interest came in, and we didn’t want an issue where we had a disillusioned player on the pitch in the final year of his contract.
“We had to look after the interests of Huddersfield Town and couldn’t let him leave on a free at the end of the season, so him signing a new contract ahead of his loan move gives the Club and the player possibilities for the future.
“Good luck to him at Brighton this season.”
Lukaku leaves United
Manchester United have sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan for £74m, including add-ons, bringing the Belgian’s two-year stay at Old Trafford to an end.
Hodgson on Zaha
Crystal Palace will keep hold of Wilfried Zaha despite the winger wanting to leave the club.
“Good to have deals done yesterday. We’re satisfied with what we’ve been able to do.
“[Wilf]'s staying, he’s an important player for the club. Today he wasn’t in the right frame of mind so I sent him home which was fine. We’re looking forward to another season with him.
"His beef is with the owners and the chairman... they haven't been able to work a deal out for him.
"I am looking forward to seeing him back tomorrow and hopefully he will have come to terms with the fact that he has another season with Crystal Palace."
Leeds sign Nketiah
Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah has signed for Leeds on a season-long loan.
Several Premier League sides were interested in signing the 20-year-old, but he has chosen the Championship club.
Nketiah made nine senior appearances for the Gunners and featured in their run to the Europa League final.
Spurs reject Rose bid
Tottenham have rejected a £14m bid for Danny Rose from Watford, The Independent understands.

"Manchester United can confirm Romelu Lukaku has completed a move to Inter Milan.
"The Belgium international striker joined the Reds in the summer of 2017 from Premier League club Everton.
"Overall, he netted 42 goals from 96 games, and 77 of those came as a starter.
"Everybody would like to thank Romelu for his efforts at the club and pass on our best wishes for the future."
