Neal Maupay opened the scoring on 17 minutes as the visitors looked set to guarantee their survival, but Danny Ings struck his 20th league goal of the season shortly after the hour mark to ensure the points were shared.

Prediction
Both teams will want to get on the ball and control possession, which could lead to an open match with counter-attacks aplenty and chances at both ends. Saints are more clinical, so they win.
57 mins: Chances! Lots of chances! Danny Ings strikes one from the left side of the box and he hits the far post. It bounces to Adams who turns it back to goal but it's cleared off the line by Dunk. The ball comes back into the box and Ings collects at the the far post. He slots a pass into the six-yard box and Adams misses it.
60 mins: Southampton have upped their game. They're getting more balls into the box. Vokins this time gets free on the left side. He hits one in low but Ryan is able to smother it.
63 mins: Good defending from Webster. Vokins slots a beauty of a ball up to Redmond who brings it into the box from the left. Webster times his challenge perfectly and wins the ball before Redmond takes a shot.
65 mins: Ward-Prowse dinks a free kick into the box and Ings wins the header but it gets blocked. The Saints regain the ball and play it to Hojbjerg who remains in the area. He shoots but Webster deflects it.
66 mins: GOAL! Southampton 1 - 1 Brighton - (Ings)
Ings makes it 20 for the season. Redmond passes the ball up to Ings and he breezes past Lamptey who is stuck on his heels. Ings comes face-to-face with Ryan and slots the ball home as easily as you'd like.
69 mins: Brighton make a few changes. Bissouma and Montoya come on as Propper and Lamptey go off.
72 mins: Southampton are all over Brighton now. Vestergaard drills one from miles out, Ryan gets a touch on the shot and tips it onto the crossbar!
75 mins: Miss! A big chance for Bissouma goes begging. March sends a ball into the box that deflects out to the penalty spot. Bissouma is the quickest to react and he shoots but pulls the shot to the left of goal.
