The Netherlands will play the United States for the Women's World Cup title after Jackie Groenen sealed a 1-0 victory over Sweden in extra-time on Wednesday night.

A slick passing sequence ended in the 99th minute with Groenen driving a shot from outside the penalty area past goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl.

The goal that broke the deadlock in a sweltering stadium set up a meeting between the European champions and the reigning world champions. Re-live the action below:

15 mins: What an opportunity for Sweden. Jakobsson gets the ball in mid-field and turns into space. The Netherlands are too compact at the back and Jakobsson can play it to Blackstenius to the right of the box. Blackstenius gets off her shot aiming back across goal but van Veenendaal dives and makes the save.

18 mins: van Lunteren tackles Hurtig and gets the ball for the Netherlands. They move it forward quickly to Miedema on the left who holds it up and plays it back inside. It comes to Beerensteyn who shoots from outside the box but its an easy save for Lindahl to make.

21 mins: A free kick to the right of the Netherlands' box is pushed behind by van Veenendaal and Sweden have a corner. There's a foul in the box as the ball comes in and the Netherlands have a free kick.

24 mins: Jakobsson and Asllani combine to work the ball into the box. van der Gragt in the middle of the Dutch defence comes to the rescue and kicks the ball off Asllani for a goal kick.

27 mins: Spitse sends the ball into Miedema who runs into the box. Fischer is initially caught off guard but recovers well to win the ball and clear it.

30 mins: The ball comes into the box for the Netherlands but Fischer heads it away. Miedema tries to free Martens in the box but Glas intercepts and Sweden successfully defend another attack.

33 mins: Asllani clashes heads with van der Gragt as they both challenge for a high ball. She hits the deck and stays down, the medics come on to check her over but she looks okay.

37 mins: Jakobsson puts the ball into the box and van Lunteren puts the ball out for a corner. Asllani takes it but van Veenendaal pushes out behind. A second corner comes in and is headed to Rubensson who shoots, has her shot blocked but it falls to Hurtig who toes it at goal and van Veenendaal sticks out a foot to make the save!

40 mins: Possession has been shared 50-50 but Sweden have looked more dangerous. Hurtig makes a foul and the Netherlands have the ball deep in their own half. Pressure from Sweden wins them back the ball as they push high but a ball over the top goes out of play.

43 mins: Things have slowed down as we approach half-time. The Dutch look happy to go into the break on level terms. They keep hold of the ball and win a free kick as Fischer dives in to a reckless challenge.
