Palace took the lead through Andros Townsend after just seven minutes, and they doubled their advantage on 74 minutes when Wilfried Zaha netted a re-take from the penalty spot after David de Gea stepped off his line when saving Jordan Ayew’s initial effort.
United debutant Donny van de Beek came off the bench to pull one back for the hosts, but Zaha bagged his brace with five minutes remaining at Old Trafford to put the result beyond doubt. Re-live all the updates below:
Everton 0 - 1 West Brom - Diangana
10 mins: GOAL! That’s come from nothing. Grady Diangana just edges forward with the ball making his way to the Everton penalty area. There’s nothing on for Diangana so he shoots as the defenders drop away from him, Pickford reacts late and is beaten by the time he dives across to his left. West Brom lead.
9 mins: Everton win a free kick over on the right side of the pitch. It’s whipped into the box and Yerry Mina goes down in the box. He wants a penalty but doesn’t get one.
6 mins: West Brom look very shaky at the back. Furlong gets the ball stuck under his feet and Everton take possession. Andre Gomes sends a ball into Calvert-Lewin who is put under pressure by Bartley and his header loops up to Johnstone.
3 mins: Everton send the ball into the box from the left wing and West Brom struggle to clear the ball. It comes to Coleman who has pushed forward, he whips it back into the box and wins a corner. James Rodriguez fires the set piece into the box and Calvert-Lewin attacks the cross, wins the header but sends it wide.
Kick off: Everton start the match but lose the ball quickly as Pickford miscues a clearance. It comes to Diangana who takes a shot and forces Pickford into a low save.
The teams are ready to go. They make their way separately out onto the pitch, West Brom arriving from a temporary changing room in the Goodison Park car park. Kick off is next…

West Brom boss, Slaven Bilic, has had his say on today’s game against Everton. He knows the Toffees are aiming high this season with the new players that they’ve brought in but he’s confident his team will do their best. He said:
We were disappointed after Leicester but we didn’t have time to be down because we had a game on Wednesday.
“We bounced back. It’s a different competition, some will say it’s a different level of the game - of course it is but it’s always nice to win the game.
“The whole atmosphere at the training ground, it wasn’t down, down, down after Leicester, but it is much better now.
“Every opponent is big in the Premier League, so we are right, we are good. Mentally we are where we want to be.
“They are a big club, historically in the big five, but they lost it a bit. In the last few seasons they are very ambitious. They started with Koeman and now with Ancelotti and they were spending for a few years in a row, big money.
“Now it seems they have bought the right players. Time will tell of course, on paper they look really great, they are maybe the team that is most improved in this transfer window apart from Chelsea.
“But time will tell. They started well so everything went up a little bit, also because they won a tough away game at Spurs.
"Again, saying all that, it means we are facing a very difficult task and opponent on Saturday, but every game is going to be like that for us, every game is going to be a big challenge.
“We have to get used to the Premier League and do our best.”
