Manchester United fell to Crystal Palace as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side began their Premier League campaign one week late on Saturday.

Palace took the lead through Andros Townsend after just seven minutes, and they doubled their advantage on 74 minutes when Wilfried Zaha netted a re-take from the penalty spot after David de Gea stepped off his line when saving Jordan Ayew’s initial effort.

United debutant Donny van de Beek came off the bench to pull one back for the hosts, but Zaha bagged his brace with five minutes remaining at Old Trafford to put the result beyond doubt. Re-live all the updates below:

51 mins: It’s been a bright start to the half for West Brom, they’re playing with confidence. Robinson and Diangana combine on the left side to work the ball into the box. Diangana attempts a cross but it’s blocked and goes out for a throw in.

Everton 2 - 2 West Brom - Pereira

47 mins: GOAL! The Baggies win an early free kick about 30-yards or so out from goal. Pereira is over the set piece. He fires it over the wall and curls it past Pickford’s outstretched hand and into the back corner of the net. What a start to the second half!

Second half: The teams are back out for the second half. Slaven Bilic has been sent to the stands, West Brom are a man down. The visitors get the game back underway.

What drama. West Brom were holding their own for 44 minutes. They’d taken the lead with a beauty of a strike from Diangana but Everton drew level courtesy of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Then, James Rodriguez sends Everton in front, Kieran Gibbs gets sent off and Slaven Bilic is shown a red for getting in Mike Dean’s face.

What will the second half bring us?

Michael Jones19 September 2020 13:31

Slaven Bilic is raging. He’s giving an earful to Mike Dean as he leaves the pitch. So much so that the referee shows him a red card as well.

West Brom are imploding here.

45+3 mins: It’s not, Gibbs is off and West Brom are down to 10-men as the half time whistle goes. Things have gone for bad to worse for West Brom, they’ll have play the second half a man down.

Michael Jones19 September 2020 13:20

45+2 mins: RED CARD! Kieran Gibbs is sent off! Straight red for shoving James Rodriguez in the face. It’s being checked but I don’t think this will be overturned.

Everton 2 - 1 West Brom - Rodriguez

45 mins: GOAL! James Rodriguez opens his account at Goodison Park with a really sweet left-footed stirke. He’s given the ball on the edge of the ‘D’, he puts in onto his left foot and slots it across goal, beating Johnstone and finding the bottom corner.

42 mins: Another set piece for the home side. Another corner. Digne sends it into the near post, Pereira wins the initial header and Diangana finishes the clearance heading the second ball out of the box.

39 mins: Everton win another corner and West Brom defend it well, allowing Ajayi to break down the right wing on the counter attack. He holds it up as his teammates catch up to him before passing to Furlong. Furlon puts the ball into the box but Everton head it away.
