Frank Lampard was satisfied with a goalless draw against Sevilla, Chelsea’s main rivals in the group, but knows his side must get a victory against the Champions League newcomers here if they are to assert themselves in the competition.

48 mins: Azpilicueta heads the ball out behind for a corner to Krasnodar. It’s played short and whipped into the box Utkin flicks the ball on but it goes all the way through for a goal kick.
Second half: Chelsea restart the match and win a free kick in Krasnodar’s half. They play it quickly and send it back to their own defence.
Chelsea have a one-goal advantage going into the second half but it could have been more. Jorginho missed a penalty for the Blues.
45+1 mins: Half time. Chelsea lead at the break after a stroke of fortune gifted to them by the Krasnodar goalkeeper.
Krasnodar have been lively and dangerous on the counter attack, Chelsea are in control and look like they’ve still got more in tank.
43 mins: Ramirez carries it forward for Krasnodar but hisball through to Smolnikov is dealt with by Chelsea's centre-back pairing.

40 mins: The young Russian goalkeeper is crestfallen. He knows he should have done better with that, Hudson-Odoi didn’t get it cleanly and his mistake has put Krasnodar behind when they’ve been playing well.

37 mins: GOAL! Some tight, quick passes from Chelsea get the ball to the edge of the box. Ziyech up to Havertz who finds Hudson-Odoi coming in from the left. He lets fly, and scuffs the shot. He finds the target and Safonov fumbles the ball and it rolls underneath his diving frame and finishes in the back of the net.
