From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Chelsea are in Russia to take on Krasnodar tonight as the Blues look to secure their first win of the group stage.

Frank Lampard was satisfied with a goalless draw against Sevilla, Chelsea’s main rivals in the group, but knows his side must get a victory against the Champions League newcomers here if they are to assert themselves in the competition.

Follow all the latest live updates below:

The big news is that Antonio Rudiger makes his first appearance of the season for Chelsea after manager Frank Lampard said the two had a ‘positive relationahip’.

Rudiger had been left out of the squad for six of the Blues’ seven games this season but seems to have come to an understanding with Lampard.

The 27-year-old had a few suitors over the summer with Chelsea seemingly willing to let him move on.

Rudiger has been unhappy about his playing time as he looks to cement a place in Germany’s starting XI for next year’s European Championship.
