From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Chelsea are in Russia to take on Krasnodar tonight as the Blues look to secure their first win of the group stage.

Frank Lampard was satisfied with a goalless draw against Sevilla, Chelsea’s main rivals in the group, but knows his side must get a victory against the Champions League newcomers here if they are to assert themselves in the competition.

Barcelona look energised and dominant, is this a turning point for the Spanish giants? Here’s what we learned from Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Juventus.

Five things we learned from Barcelona’s Champions League win over Juventus

Dembele and Messi scored Barcelona’s two goals in a convincing win

90+5 mins: Full time. A dominant display from Barcelona sees them go to the top of Group G with two wins from their first two games. Juventus really missed the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo tonight. Alvaro Morata had three goals disallowed for offsides, and Merih Demiral got himself sent off.

Barcelona win in Turin for the first time. It’s taken them six attempts.

90+2 mins: Lionel Messi now has 70 goals in 74 Champions League group matches. He’s a bit good isn’t he.

Juventus 0 - 2 Barcelona - Messi

90+1 mins: GOAL! Messi guides the spot kick into the top left corner. Barcelona have deserved this, they’ve been the better side. It’s a night to forget for Juventus.

Penalty to Barcelona!

90 mins: Messi plays a simple pass into the box for Fati. Bernardeschi comes in from behind and takes out the youngster.

87 mins: Griezmann departs and Junior Firpo replaces him. Juventus are spent, they’re down to ten men with time ticking by. Barca are going to get the victory.

RED CARD!

84 mins: Demiral’s night has been one to forget. He loses the ball, Pjanic takes it and he leaves his foot in when making the tackle. It’s a second yellow for the Juventus man and he’s off!

81 mins: Into the final ten minutes now and Juve make a double change Bernardeschi and former Barca man Arthur are on with Bentancur and Rabiot going off. Can Juve get a goal?

78 mins: Rabiot cynically brings down Messi. He just kicked him in the leg. He gets the fourth yellow of the night for Juve. Messi sends the free kick into the box towards Lenglet but Juve clear the ball.
