Fulham vs Aston Villa LIVE: Result and reaction from Premier League fixture today
Follow all the latest from Craven Cottage
Fulham are taking on Aston Villa this evening at Craven Cottage as Scott Parker’s newly promoted side search for their first points of the season.
Fulham struggled against Arsenal on the opening day but were much improved against Leeds, eventually going down 4-3. But they will need to tighten up defensively, having already shipped seven goals and looking highly susceptible at the back, something which proved their undoing in the Premier League two years ago.
Villa got off to the perfect start beating Sheffield United and will be eager to continue that momentum in what could well be a battle between two relegation fighters come the end of the season. Follow all the action below:
83 min
Salah burts inside from the right and plays a perfect ball through to Jota. The former Wolves man takes a touch and plants his finish into the side netting, enough to fool the fake crowd noise into a premature celebration.
82 min
Jota, fed by Firmino, looks for an immediate impact, cutting onto his right foot and getting a shot off. It flashes a fair way wide of the far post.
80 min
A double sub for Liverpool: Keita and Mane - slightly surprisingly - are replaced by Milner and Jota, who makes his Premier League debut for the club.
78 min
Arsenal win a rare corner, which is wasted by Pepe. His delivery doesn’t clear Robertson at the near post and then Bellerin’s foul throw gives possession back to Liverpool.
76 min
Arsenal almost get in behind again, this time Nketiah racing onto a through ball. But Alisson races out quickly to clear before the youngster can reach it.
Firmino goes close at the other end, dragging a deflected shot narrowly wide of the far post.
74 min
Lacazette makes way having missed that big chance earlier in the half. Nketiah replaces him.
73 min
Robertson floats the free kick to the back post, where Van Dijk attacks it. It’s well defended by Tierney and then Lacazette.
72 min
Mane has been almost unplayable tonight and he causes more problems for Arsenal on the left, winning a free kick off Ceballos, who goes into the book. Liverpool will have a set piece just outside the box, and Robertson will deliver.
70 min
Mane does well to keep the ball in play on the left, nudging it past Ceballos and then trying a curling shot from a tight angle. Leno saves fairly comfortably at his near post.
