From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Prediction...
Everton to have too much for this depleted Palace side. 2-0.

50: This game has started just as the first half ended. Scrappy, low on quality and an all-round disappointment. The number of misplaced passes is atrocious.
52: Off the line...again!
Everton have their second effort of the match cleared off the line as Van Aanholt it in the right place to turn away Sigurdsson's flick from the penalty spot. That's woeful defending from the home side to allow him that much space.
54: Schneiderlin talks himself into getting a yellow card with a bizarre, angry reaction to being penalised for fouling Ayew. He drops to his knees and repeatedly slams thumps the ground in frustration.
Milivojevic then goes into the book after the Palace captain trips Sigurdsson.
57: He should score!
How are Palace not ahead!
Ayew is slipped in behind and can't get the ball past Pickford. He should really have done better. It looks like he was caught in two minds, go round him or shoot. The result was a tentative jab at the goalkeeper.
Pickford is then on hand to deny Meyer.
Elsewhere
Bournemouth take the lead against Sheffield United, Chris Mepham the scorer.
The deadlock is also broken at Turf Moor as Ashley Barnes opens the scoring for Burnley against Southampton.
And Brighton double their lead against Watford, Florin Andone doubles the lead.
He's on!
Wilfried Zaha is on for the final 30 minutes
It would be something if he scores the winner against the side he wanted to join just a couple of days ago.
Palace fans sing 'He's just too good for you'...
68: Everton have a pretty good sub of their own too as Moise Kean comes on for his debut, he replaces Calvert-Lewin. This should liven things up.
